  • Winter or summer, a great venue!

"I've stayed here 4 times, it's my favorite place to stay when I'm in Julian. Aside from the obviously incredible views from the glass covered A-frame, it's truly nestled in nature, with all that entails. The interior is rustic, clean and quaint, with a roomy loft and all the amenities you'd need to be comfortable. It has wifi and cable, but I just listened to music and the wind. Beautiful location, would totally recommend."

  • Quaint and cozy with all you need, close to town

"Perfect size of the two of us plus our two small dogs. The kitchen has all the essentials needed, the oven needs an easy touch but works great. Although chilly outside the wood stove heated the living room nicely and the portable heaters were perfect to heat the bedroom. Highly reccomend a trip down to the Nickel Beer company, only 1/2 mile from home base. Grab a pint for there and get a growler to go and enjoy it with dinner in Big Pine. Rain on our trip hampered our plans for a lengthy walkabout, but we were able to walk the propery and decided to come back to take advantage of the fire pit . There are other cabins on property, but no other visitor activities disturbed us and the few times we ran into others on shared grounds all were friendly. Would be a great getaway for a large group to book the whole retreat. Bella the cat was a great surprise-she was very friendly and we enjoyed spending time with her."

  • Beautiful home with all the comforts

"We are a group of women staying and had no concerns for safety or comfort. Just a short jaunt to Julian for a little pie and hot cidar."

  • Wonderful little cabin with the right touches

"This cabin was the perfect size for my wife and I, two younger daughters, and a 7 month old. The girls were in heaven at the Gingerbread House with all it had to offer (the jacuzzi tub and spa) and the surrounding town of Julian was fun to explore. The home is set up so upon arrival you are ready to relax and enjoy your stay. Maria checked us in and the process was seamless and fast. Some of the amenities they supplied that were a surprise were, shampoo, conditioner and body wash. There were a few more nice touches that make you feel welcome but we'll let you find those out for yourselves! We will recommend this place to others and will return ourselves!"
