  • Exactly what we wanted!!!!

"Just wanted to take a couple of minutes to thank Dawn and Ed for allowing us to have a quiet, uneventful, peaceful and needed rest at their Black Oak Cabin. What a wonderful throwback to the 1950s tucked away in the trees in a private and quiet location. We were welcomed with open arms and bright smiles upon arrival and given the two bit tour of the property. The cabin is everything it was advertised to be and then some. Just a couple minutes from downtown Julian it’s close enough to be convenient and far enough away that there was no traffic or noise. This property is clean as a whistle, cute as can be and a great weekend hideaway. Next time we have a hankering for apple anything, we’ll be back. Oh, just one thing to be aware of, the black kitty with white paws is nice, stay away from the black “kitty” with white stripes, he’s a little stinker!"

  • Perfect Julian Getaway

"Everything was just as expected. Quaint little cabin with everything we needed. The many wild turkeys roaming through the property was wonderful and there was lots of bird-watching to be done. Amber was very responsive to my last minute questions and we will certainly stay here again. I highly reccomend saying here-it's close to town and even closer to Nickel Beer Company (get a growler to go and bring it back to enjoy on the deck). It is a great getaway!"

  • Rustic and quiet

"My wife and I brought my teenage son and four of his friends for a weekend and they loved it. They spent most of the time outside exploring and enjoying the great natural Outdoors. I grew up in a log cabin in Upstate New York so it brought back many fond memories of my childhood. The boys quickly figured out how to use the TV set up so that we could watch movies and the barbecue was great for cooking some tri-tips we had on Saturday night. This is truly a rustic cabin experience but one I would highly recommend for anyone who wants some peace and quiet in the woods."

  • Perfect for families with pets.

"Truly pet friendly. Our dog wasn't just tolerated, she was welcomed. The fenced yard, the cottage layout, the back door for late night dog visits made the stay effortless. The entire property is fenced and gated, so we could enjoy sitting on the deck and night time stargazing without worrying about our dog roaming. She LOVED the trip even more than we did. Thanks, Nada! 😊"
