  • A great family vacation ...

"We recently had the pleasure of staying in this fabulous house. If you have kids, they will LOVE it. There are endless activities to keep them busy. The house is located in a quiet, upscale community with cute shops and great restaurants, with in walking distance. The beach is a 10 or 15 minute drive, we definitely wanted to be closer but turned out to be fine. The house is beautiful and felt very homey. We loved how the kitchen and family room opened up to a gorgeous outdoor patio. The enormous basement had activities for the kids, a home gym and a sauna that was very popular with everyone. The bedrooms were nice, and all of them had their own bathroom. The master bedroom has a small balcony that has a nice ocean view (pending on the cloud activity). The room was cozy, however the bed was horrible. My husband felt as if he was sliding off every night. It was definitely worn down and slopped. We have a very firm mattress at home so this was a tough adjustment anyway. I also didn't like that there was no where to hang my clothes. I had to use another bedroom closet. Maybe minor but, inconvenient. I would suggest putting a rack in the room for future guests. Overall, my complaints are very minor. This was an amazing house. We had a great time and would definitely go back. Overall I would rate it 4.5 but that was not an option. Anthony met us at the house and gave us an overview on all the necessities. He was very welcoming and available for questions, advice, and recommendations, during our entire stay. We greatly appreciated that."

  • Great place! Great owner!

"We were really happy with the experience at this condo. Great open floor plan in the kitchen/living room and both bedrooms are quite large. The location in the village is awesome. We didn't really have a need to move the car at all except to venture further into to San Diego. If you wanted to just shop and hang at the beach you could easily walk anywhere you need from the condo. Robyn was great with her communication and answering our questions before our trip. We asked her if the condo had baking trays and after she checked on it she said the ones that were there were kind of old and beat up and we had brand new baking trays greet us in the kitchen when we got there. The pride of ownership is really evident. The garage is a pretty tight fit but it's nice to have that space if you need it. We ended up mostly using the street parking. We would defintely stay here again!"

  • Couldn't have asked for a better stay!

"My husband and I stayed at Sharon's place with our dog and a few other family members over xmas and NYE. We were at the house for two weeks and were so sad to leave. The place is beautiful, well appointed and clean. She has provided everything you need. The neighborhood is safe and just steps from the ocean. The garden is gorgeous and it was perfect for our dog to play in. I honestly can't imagine a better place to stay. We will be back - it was one of our best vacations. Thank you, Sharon!"

  • Great house, location and owners!!!

"We just spent a terrific month at this wonderful La Jolla house near the beach. The home was just completed in December, so everything was clean, new and looks better live than in the pictures. The owners, Karen and Jack, live near, checked in a few times and responded very quickly to our questions. The kitchen and living area were great. The rooftop patio was absolutely awesome for morning coffee, ocean view sunsets, grilling and relaxing. The beds were very comfortable and the towels and bedding were thick and soft. The kitchen was fully stocked with the pots, pans, cutlery and utensils you want as well as small appliances like a blender, toaster, sandwich grill and of course coffee maker. Fridge, range, microwave and dishwasher were all new and higher end. We also loved having the new washer and dryer – both worked great and will make any beach vacation easier. The location was perfect for us -- a block to Windansea Beach and 10 minute walk or bike ride to several other beaches or shoreline attractions. We spent parts of every day on the sand or water -- exploring tide pools near the Village, watching seals at the Cove and long walks on the beaches from Bird Rock to Mission Beach were some of our favorites. The house is close to many great restaurants, so we biked or walked to almost every meal. The furthest was a mile and a half and the closest was a few blocks. We are not fancy, but definitely appreciate good food – some highly recommended favorites are The Promiscuous Fork (a foodie institution and our favorite), Cafe Vahik, the Taco Stand, Puesto, Harry's Coffee Shop and Karl Strauss Brewing Company. While the location was wonderful, we had a rental car for a week or so to see more of San Diego. One word of advice, the garage is tight with a narrow alley and a fence behind – our minivan fit, but a mid-size car or smaller is much easier to get in and out. If you need more room, there was plenty of street parking available. The only caution we have for the house is that the bedrooms and bathrooms have louvered as opposed to solid doors. That allows sound to travel freely to the common areas and other rooms and compromises some privacy. It was not an issue for us or our guests as we are very close, but it could be troubling for some if you are traveling with others who want or need more privacy, especially if they are staying in the room across from the kitchen. We highly recommend this wonderful home and La Jolla."
