  • Beautiful Views!

"We stayed with children under the age of 7. The two bedrooms and bathrooms were perfect. Jeff, the homeowner, was friendly and fixed a couple of issues immediately. His dog, Lucy, is so sweet and great with the kids. The view of the home was amazing as it faces Mt. Helix. The pool was cleaned regularly but it was a bit chilly so the kids stayed in the hot tub. It worked out well. Also, we were conveniently located to the Zoo and SeaWorld (20 minutes each way). There were good restaurants and grocery stores nearby as well. There were a couple of things that didn't have a major impact on our stay but it was minor. The pillow cases on the bed didn't look clean. We spent the first evening washing all the sheets. Also, whenever we used the hot water in the kitchen, the pipes would start to bang loudly. Everything else was great and we enjoyed our stay!"

  • Perfect choice for us!

"I took a group of 4 adults and 4 children ranging from 18 months to 8 years to San Diego for mid winter break. We're from Washington state and it has done nothing but rain for eons it seems. The house was a perfect fit with the four bedrooms and three baths upstairs and one bath downstairs. The kiddos absolutely loved their time in the pool, it couldn't have been a more perfect fit for us as far as location too. It was about 45 minutes or so to all the places we went. Mission San Luis Rey, Seaward, Legoland, Wildlife Safari, and the San Diego Zoo. The house is warm, inviting and comfortable. John and Michelle were more than delightful in every aspect. They are gracious, welcoming and were easy to talk with about how to manage the house and make sure the pool and spa were ready to use whenever we wanted them. I would recommend their house to any family group that wants a central location, a place to fix some meals, have laundry facilities available (means less clothing to pack), and really just want to relax and enjoy themselves. Thank you John and Michelle for helping us have a wonderful vacation."

  • Orthopaedic convention.

"Our hosts were helpful but not prying. I love North County and their home is ideally located. Ran daily. If you're the least bit active you can walk to the beach, Del Mar and Torrrey Pines. UCSD is a jaunt but it can be done! Pool and jacuzzi are accessible and nice. The price is a bargain."

  • Good place to stay + it has full kitchen!

"The flat has an open floor plan with nice living room type seating area, dining area and full kitchen, then a couple steps up to a separate bedroom and bathroom that includes a clothes washer and dryer. Having a kitchen and washer is idea for a longer stay when you want to cook "at home" and be able to wash clothes. A couple of caveats for some travelers: the flat is a daylight basement with a long, narrow exterior stairway and the flat inside has two or three steps between "living room" and kitchen/bedroom level, so it is not suitable for wheelchair access nor anyone with difficulty navigating stairs. Otherwise, both John and Kathy were great hosts, responsive to a couple of issues that arose. The central location in Spring Valley gives good access to the many freeways that crisscross San Diego, and so was it was easy to get around in any direction."
