  • Close to beach

"It is older but in good condition. There was a problem with the dishwasher but it is being taken care of. Overall we enjoyed being there and is very close to the beach."

  • Location Location Location!

"This is a great location right on an exciting part of the San Diego beach. You're almost directly across from 2 flights of stairs to the beach, or a block north of Crystal Pier where anyone can catch a ray or shark without a license for just $10 rental. Mark was great at communication and worked around lost keys by having the cleaner let me in. The building is showing some age but the unit is well furnished. The closet has a bunch of beach accessories. That part of the beach has a lot of surf and you either have to like surfing, or diving in waves, or you can just enjoy the sand. The water is warm enough to swim in for awhile. The pool is refreshing after the beach. The hot tub is tiny - just 3 people, but at least they have one. The parking is crazy so the one spot provided is like gold. Just a block away is good pizza, mexican, seafood, etc. Bike rentals are available. The beach is mostly younger people but everyone will feel comfortable and safe. Lifeguards keep the beach well run. It was a short drive to all the San Diego attractions - SeaWorld, Balboa Park Museums, Belmont Park. Scripps Aquarium. I recommend getting the Go San Diego card. Costco gives you an extra day for free. If you visit Legoland I left a souvenir cup you can get $1 refills, and I recommend buying the same at SeaWorld."

  • Perfect home for multi-family vacation

"We had three families (6 adults, 7 kids) stay in this home for an amazing week of fun and comfort. The homeowner is extremely professional and very accommodating. We loved that each of the 5 bedrooms had their own full bath, and the house is decorated like a magazine, though very livable. We spent a ton of time in the backyard, which was basically a resort oasis. The pool is heated and huge. The hot tub is perfect for evenings. Kids loved the putting green. WIFI setup is super strong - the whole house/property is covered - there are two routers and we got 30-40 mbps consistently. Moonlight beach is a short 10 minute drive. We would definitely consider this house again!"

  • Great location, value

"We've loved weekend visits to Borrego over the years and finally decided to spend a week there and see if you could really "unwind" and get away from it all. That you can--this town puts you at peace and allows you to really feel connected to the environment around you and tune out the noise in your mind from back home. It's hard to imagine your only a couple of hours away from the coast--it feels like an entirely different planet. There was a negative review from a person who was surprised that there wasn't much going on in Borrego--this is not the fault of this house--it's the nature of the place it's situated in. And for us, it was perfect. This house is well situated on a beautiful lot in one of Borrego's finest communities, De Anza Country Club. The pool is truly gigantic though the cover does a good job of keeping it warm (assuming you are not there in the winter). Our favorite part of the trip was just lounging outside by the pool. The house is charming, bright and pleasant. But I have to take off a star because everything is not in terribly good repair. The couches are worn out, the outside patio furniture cushions need to replaced (filthy), everything is extremely old. And no I don't mean in a cool, mid-century kind of way. Just sort of 80s old. All that being said, the home is priced commensurate with its condition and you don't really mind the old furniture after a couple of days. The owner is extremely attentive, friendly, and very helpful--we will likely return."
