  • Simplicity

"Julian Mountain Haven was just as described, perfect. It sits on the boarder of San Diego County land so there are no neighbors adjacent, giving it a very woodsy isolated feeling. The homes was supplied with everything you needed to feel the comforts of home however the view and cabin interior let me know I was far from Los Angeles. Looking very forward to returning again. :) Thank you."

  • Beautiful home and relaxing atmosphere. We really wanted to stay longer!!

"This home is beautiful. The kitchen is well stocked, including every spice you would ever need. All you need to pack are your clothes and personal items as everything else is furnished. Beds are very comfortable, house immaculate. Great for kids and pets. Fantastic owner as well. We look forward to our next visit to Julian."

  • Nice stay!

"The house is very nice, and very comfortable. 5 star location! Lots of wildlife! There are a couple of deer that visit the property every night, and a flock of turkeys that jog past every morning. It's pretty funny. It's like it's their morning fitness program. LOL. If you drive around for a few minutes you'll see more deer and turkeys than you've ever seen, and they're not scared to see you. Lots of fun if you don't have much experience with either, or if you're like us and it doesn't get old. The property is good sized, and is perfectly situated at the top of a nice little community where the wildlife is protected. The town of Julian is just a short drive, so it's easy to pop in to town for supplies and a quick bite. Beware though, if there is winter weather, you're better off enjoying the peace and quiet of the cabin, as the town is quickly overrun with tourists. The house itself is a little quirky, which is to be expected. Some are endearing and some not so much. As a retreat it's really nice that there's only one TV in the house, but it would be nice if you didn't have to be a rocket scientist to use it. The owner has a super overkill sound system connected, and a series of 4 remotes to make it all work. The system should be more user friendly, like removing the HDMI cable from the receiver and plugging it directly into the TV (hint), so common people, and their kids can watch. We also wondered about the sauna that is in the master bathroom? The master bath is a very nice addition to the house, but the sauna is so small is seems pointless. We would have really preferred a toilet in its place, so you don't have to leave the master suite to go to the restroom. The only real draw back to the stay is the owners cat room. There is a really nice room that was added on to the original home, with a very well placed fire place, that would be a great room to sit and watch wildlife from, except for the really bad cat odor that dominates. There are some people that aren't bothered by that, but we just avoided the room completely. If you're into nice walks and beautiful sunsets, you can experience both here."

  • Beautiful Cabin

"Zora was great! She was on top of any calls and concerns we had . The cabin was just gorgeous with beautiful views from the windows. I was just so upset when we were ready to cook our dinner and found dirty utensils. We had to wash any we were going to use before eating because we got grossed out.. the coffee pot was also really dirty we cleaned it before using it as well. Seeing that made me question how clean the bed sheets were in the rooms that my guests and I didn't sleep as comfortable as we wish we would have. There was a fee of $100 for cleaning services .. I had no problem paying that assuming everything would be clean before and after we left of course. The cabin had everything which was great , tons of games and many movies. Beautiful cabin to rent for some family time !"
