  • A Nice Pet Friendly Vacation Cottage

"This was my second year staying at the Blue Herron Cottage. They are very pet friendly and have very good accommodation for you and your dog. The fenced back yard is shared with five other cottage renters, and provides a good location to exercise your dog. There are two gas barbecue grills for those who desire to grill during their stay. The cottage is a mere 1.5 blocks from the ocean and there is a nice little beach known as "The Cove". The dog beach is about a mile or two away but it is worth the journey. It is a large beach area where your hounds can run off leash. There is another dog beach on Fiesta Island that is about five miles away. This dog beach is even larger than the other dog beach. There are plenty of restaurants and bars about four or five blocks away. The Olive Tree Market Place is a good deli within walking distance and they make a great sandwich. The cottage was well stocked and had everything one needs for a nice stay. Checkin and check out is a breeze. Hi speed wifi internet is a real nice feature that is included. The TV's are Smart so if you already have an account you can watch Netflix, Amazon Video, etc... If you are a light sleeper this might not be the place for you because it is located underneath the San Diego International Airport departure route. It didn't bother me but if you are a light sleeper you should consider this."

  • Great place to base from

"This is a great little place to base all your adventures from. Everything is walking distance from here. Great places to eat, surf, hike, club, watch sunsets, explore tide pools and enjoy the community. There is plenty of room for storing you adventure gear and for cooking if eating out is not your thing. There are a few not so great points you should know about. 1. its an upstairs unit and doesn't have a place to sit outside and enjoy the day. That said, the cliffs are two blocks away and there are incredible microbars and coffee houses that all have curb side seating. 2. All of the OB is under the air traffic strip and you can hear the planes most of the day . Also the occupant downstairs has a yappy little dog, cute but yappy. Not all day long and if you love being out then only at night when you enter and exit. On the plus side the place is great to hang out in if there is a rainy day. Great WIFI, TV, games and space."

  • Relaxing, comfortable & exactly as advertised

"Wonderful stay in a beautiful, safe and relaxing condo directly on the bluffs and overlooking the Pacific Ocean at Ocean Beach. High points: Owner very prompt and thorough. Clear and helpful follow up and easy-to-follow directions. Secure, dedicated parking and secure unit. Plenty of space for our family. Full kitchen with settings and table, pantry space and cookware, which we used daily in addition to exploring restaurants. Outstanding master bedroom with access to patio, master bath, seating area and walk in closet. Very comfortable and private 2nd and 3rd bedrooms and bath. Beautiful garden and seating area, private and overlooking ocean; incredible sunsets change nightly. Easy access to stairs leading to coves. Close and easy walk to Ocean Beach main street - beach, fishing pier, restaurants. Close drive, walk or run to explore Sunset Cliffs. Helpful guide in unit did not steer us wrong with local walkable restaurant choices. With active family, easy to set out on many walks and runs directly from the condo. Easy drive to local grocers and restaurants on nearby harbor side (don't miss Point Loma Seafood), and easy scenic drive to the beautiful monument/park at Cabrillo. Short drive to I-5/I-8 for day trips in and around San Diego. I think we used everything offered, loved our stay and would return in a heartbeat."
