  • Nicer than we expected--and we expected something nice!

"I've stayed with VRBO many times and have always had great experiences. This one was extraordinary for a few reasons however: (1) the place is lovely: immaculate with bright colors, beautiful artwork and comfy furniture. It feels like someone has taken real pride in it. There is also a wonderfully well stocked kitchen (we like to cook and what others call "well stocked" is not always what WE call "well stocked". This one had everyone thing we needed/wanted--plus. (2) The beds: yikes! The master bed was amazing, really comfortable (so comfortable that I asked the owners about the topper they use and plan to buy one!). (3) The location: we were a block off the water and a short block to the stairs and the strand. The view of the ocean was a bit obstructed (as you see in the pics), but you could easily see the waves and sunset and hear the waves as well. (4) The communication was outstanding. They texted shortly after we arrived just to make sure everything was ok (it was) and see if we had any questions. We later had a question about the thermostat which was quickly answered. Knowing that they were available if there were any questions was really helpful. As other reviews have mentioned you are only a block from the train. When the MBR doorwall was open at night we could hear the train, but when closed we didn't notice it at all, and frankly, I didn't mind hearing the train whistles anyway. Didn't have time to try the included bikes in the garage, but they looked nice. Maybe next time..."

  • Great location and facilities

"To start, we have been staying at North Coast Village (NCV) for 10 years. So my review will also be comparing against other properties that are similar in the same facility. I will also mention about the location in general. The description of the condo is very accurate and represented as it is. There is no promise of additional items in the condo for the occupants to use. However I felt that the "supplies" in the condo were very minimal. Compared to previous places we've stayed, there was nothing in the fridge or pantry other than sugar and coffee. The basic practice is to leave any remaining items that will not spoil for the next guest (for example ketchup). This made it difficult as we had to buy everything new. There were minimal supplies for cleaning, only 2 dishwasher tabs were left for the week and 2 rolls of paper towels. The bed in the master was great. Very comfortable, and the bedding was clean and well taken care of. The pull out couch however was not. It was clean and well taken care of, but of very low quality. My boys (9 and 12) had a very difficult time sleeping on it as the springs were very obtrusive. Just sitting on it was difficult. We used all the blankets and extra comforter in the condo to make it manageable, but it was miserable for them. One of them chose to sleep on the floor for more comfort. The beach just in front of NCV is typically very nice and less crowded than all other beaches in Oceanside. It's location close to the pier and the harbor, and the facilities within NCV (mini golf, pool, foosball, ping pong, pools, hot tub) make it ideal for spending an entire week fully entertained in the area without a car. Bonfires on the beach are allowed in designated places, and new restrooms in the area are clean and nice. My only concern is that NCV has no control over when the city decides to dredge the sand from the harbor, and this year they happened to do it late in the season while we were there (June). This means that there was a giant pipe across the beach, heavy equipment, and part of the beach closed. It was also noisy throughout the day, even early in the morning. My recommendation - check with the owner before booking to see if they're dredging the beach so you are aware before you go. Overall the condo was very clean. The fact that they got all the sand out of the carpet was great, cleaner than other condos I've been in."

  • Beautiful home

"The home exceeded our expectations. Stayed for a full week, spending Spring Break with my 3 teenaged daughters and their friends. The home is close to the beach and pier. The rooftop patio was our favorite hangout throughout our stay. The home accomated everyone perfectly as Bob & Debi delivered on everything stated in the write up and from our emails. We all can't wait to come back and rent this home again. Thank you Debi & Bob!"

  • Perfect Family Get Away

"This was our first visit to Oceanside and we will be back! This condo was perfect for our family of 5. Walking distance to beach, shops and a different restaurant each night. We have never stayed in such a well stocked apartment with not only soaps and shampoo, but after sun moisturizer and gels! There is nothing better when traveling across country to be able to shop for meals knowing that there are spices, sauces, olive oil, all the basics to start dinner. It really was a home away from home. This is a modern and well maintained condo and the owners were easy to contact and helpful with answering questions. Thank You!"
