  • Great place above San Diego

"My friends and I chose this place to stay for my bachelor party weekend. Although we spent the majority of our time away from the house it was nice to go back to such a relaxing place just outside of the city. The house is located at the end of a cul-de-sac in an upscale neighborhood just outside of downtown San Diego. Our Uber and Lyft rides into town were about $9-$11 depending on where we wanted to go. Nearby you have a grocery store, several restaurants and very nice park. The inside of the house is decorated with amazing artwork in every room. The house is also equipped with a Traeger smoker and propane bbq which was a nice surprise. We used the Traeger to smoke ribs and a brisket and it worked out perfectly. The backyard is spacious and has a gorgeous deck overlooking the pool. The pool is solar heated so don't expect to go swimming for more than a few minutes if it hasn't been sunny outside that day. We had plenty of blankets and the whole house was stocked with more than you can ask for, especially the kitchen. Ruth-ann was very responsive to any questions we had and even let us check in 3 hours early! My buddies and I agreed we would definitely stay here again and even contemplated making this a yearly trip because we had so much fun. I normally don't post reviews but I felt her and this place deserved to be recognized for how nice and convenient it was."

  • Spectacular San Diego Family Vacation

"Wow! We hit the jackpot on this incredible home to experience our first San Diego vacation. This newly built home was something out of architectural digest and all the modern accents made our family feel like we were in a modern 5 star penthouse. We enjoyed the spacious living room and being able to eat out and relax with wine on the balcony looking at the nightly fireworks was another surprise perk. We enjoyed being close to the many incredible restaurants not more than 5 minutes away or even walking distance. The home is close to the airport but you don't hear the planes but instead see the San Diego city lights while enjoying the close of each day. The many attractions of San Diego are also close by like the San Diego Zoo and Sea World just to name a few. We will definitely be back and will let all our friends and family see what a great location and find this home is for anyone visiting San Diego."

  • Peacefully quiet charmer close to many San Diego attractions.

"For me, my husband and my sister this house was pretty perfect. Great location! Walking distance to great restaurants, espresso shops, , Vons (if you like a little longer walk, which I do). Close to downtown San Diego, Zoo, easy access to Highways. A bit convoluted to find the address, but use google maps and you find your rental on a wonderfully quiet, private cul-de-sac. Sister and I walked the neighborhood every morning: high class and full of wonderfully landscaped historic (1914) bungalows. House itself has EVERYTHING you could need. The master bedroom is so bright, roomy and comfortable. Loved how it lit up with morning light, but then got cool in the hot afternoons. King bed comfortable (a little soft for my tastes, but that's personal taste). Master bath roomy, great water pressure (toilet AND a bidet, which was a bit of a surprise). Guest room good size, comfy, but only queen bed--for 2 couples, a king bed would be better. Guest bath smaller but bright, efficient. Kitchen gorgeous, well organized.. The outside property is small but perfectly landscaped and laid out. Any time we spent at the house, we sat outdoors at table on deck. The only, tiny dissatisfaction with house was the living room couch--none of us could quite figure out how to sit on it comfortably for long, no back support. But we didn't care. The house was so clean, clean, clean, attractive, cheery, bright and well maintained. I hope to have the privilege to stay here many more times in the future when visiting family. And for anyone else visiting the area who doesn't require a "party" house, but rather a charming, comfortable, lovely home to come back to after a sunny day out and about in San Diego, this place is perfect.."

  • Home away from home.

"Hal and Christine have obviously put a lot of thought and effort into setting up this studio to meet every need of a guest, whether they stay one night or 45 (like I did). It has a fully equipped kitchen, a very comfortable bed and couch, Internet and premium tv for your entertainment. It's conveniently located (try Aero club, Starlite and International Restaurant Row nearby), has ample parking and is in a safe, beautiful neighborhood. Hal and Christine were especially accommodating and thoughtful hosts. Best I ever had."
