  • Home Sweet Home!

"San Diego was my home for many years and we couldn't have asked for a better stay at Rachel's. Everything we possibly needed was there, including baby crib and both inside and outside toys as well as wonderful books for my two toddler grandchildren. The house is incredibly roomy with many as-you-go instructions to assist with appliances, an abundance of towels for bathing and the beach, extra linens, and toiletries. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. We loved the no-key entrance code -- one less thing to keep track of. Very quiet, safe neighborhood with plenty of on-street parking. Rachel is a delightful host who answered all our questions promptly. A great place to stay!"

  • Convenience & Location

"I spent the month of August, in this Hillcrest Apartment which had all the conveniences of home. Centrally located with several public transportation options available within one block, this home base was perfect for exploring the University Heights neighborhood, Hillcrest and a very doable walk to Balboa Park. The owner, Michael was very responsive and available when needed and provided an extensive list of neighborhood shopping and eateries within walking distance. It definitely is a great location for an extended stay in this trendy San Diego area. I'd highly recommend this rental."

  • Pristine, Adorable Tiny House

"My husband and I are in our mid 50's traveling to California for our nephew's wedding. This was the perfect tiny house for our 5 day San Diego trip. Everything was exactly as described.....even the wine and terrific cookies. We were particularly impressed with how clean and updated the property was. It is tiny, but provided everything you need at a value price for up to two people. Be aware that if you are from the Midwest, as we are, you will have to get used to parking in San Diego. When we first saw that off street parking can be crowded at times, we were a little concerned. By the end of the first day, we realized that parking is a challenge everywhere you go in San Diego. It just goes with the territory. We managed to get on street parking within a block of the property every day. Most days it was just a few feet away. This is a minor inconvenience compared to all the advantages this rental has to offer. Also, if you are a cable TV junkie, better bring your Roku. They offer only basic local antenna TV plus WiFi ....no cable. This wasn't much of an issue since we were constantly on the go and just used it for local weather while we were getting ready in the AM. There's just so much to see and do in San Diego, there was no time for hanging out in front of the tube. One thing we really enjoyed was the central location. University Heights is very centrally located, close to the zoo, Balboa Park and the airport. We were just a short drive from Old Town and Little Italy. The owners provided a great book of local attractions, maps and restaurants plus they provide an assortment of trial size toiletries, an iron and a blow dryer. We found the owners to be very responsive, just a quick text and any questions we had were quickly answered. The kitchen had all the basic necessities for reheating leftovers or making a simple breakfast. One final thing to consider about this booking is what a great value you get for the price. Lots of listings offer a low price, but when you factor in the added cleaning costs, you really are paying much more than you expect. This place only has a $20 cleaning fee. Plus there is a washer and dryer available just outside the door if you need to do a quick load. If you want to save a ton of money, but still stay in a clean, quiet central location, this is your best bet. Plus you get a taste of tiny house living. We will book there again on our next trip out."
