  • Family Summer Getaway

"Our family just returned from a 3 night stay at this beautiful oceanfront location! We stayed in the one bedroom unit upstairs with a shared deck. Unit #5. Our two kids shared the sleeper sofa in the living room and it worked out great! The unit was clean, had plenty of towels and cookware. We used the Walmart Market close by to stock up on groceries for meals at home. When the power went out across the entire Strand, the gas stove was a life-saver! The owner even brought in candles and kind words during this "dark" time! We ate dinner almost every night on the deck, watching the sun go down! There was an ample amount of beach toys, boogie boards, chairs and umbrellas for our use, any time of day! The convenient access to the beach is worth every single penny! Ruby's on the Pier was an easy walk, playgrounds were close and I enjoyed a nice running path right along the beach and across Pacific street every morning! Our kids were devastated that we had to come home! Such a great time! We will definitely be recommending this property to friends and family!"

  • Great place!

"This is a great place to stay! We spent a week here and loved it. Easy to get to places, quick beach access, beautiful views and nice condo. We did Disneyland, California Adventure, San Diego and other places easily."

  • Great location and facilities

"To start, we have been staying at North Coast Village (NCV) for 10 years. So my review will also be comparing against other properties that are similar in the same facility. I will also mention about the location in general. The description of the condo is very accurate and represented as it is. There is no promise of additional items in the condo for the occupants to use. However I felt that the "supplies" in the condo were very minimal. Compared to previous places we've stayed, there was nothing in the fridge or pantry other than sugar and coffee. The basic practice is to leave any remaining items that will not spoil for the next guest (for example ketchup). This made it difficult as we had to buy everything new. There were minimal supplies for cleaning, only 2 dishwasher tabs were left for the week and 2 rolls of paper towels. The bed in the master was great. Very comfortable, and the bedding was clean and well taken care of. The pull out couch however was not. It was clean and well taken care of, but of very low quality. My boys (9 and 12) had a very difficult time sleeping on it as the springs were very obtrusive. Just sitting on it was difficult. We used all the blankets and extra comforter in the condo to make it manageable, but it was miserable for them. One of them chose to sleep on the floor for more comfort. The beach just in front of NCV is typically very nice and less crowded than all other beaches in Oceanside. It's location close to the pier and the harbor, and the facilities within NCV (mini golf, pool, foosball, ping pong, pools, hot tub) make it ideal for spending an entire week fully entertained in the area without a car. Bonfires on the beach are allowed in designated places, and new restrooms in the area are clean and nice. My only concern is that NCV has no control over when the city decides to dredge the sand from the harbor, and this year they happened to do it late in the season while we were there (June). This means that there was a giant pipe across the beach, heavy equipment, and part of the beach closed. It was also noisy throughout the day, even early in the morning. My recommendation - check with the owner before booking to see if they're dredging the beach so you are aware before you go. Overall the condo was very clean. The fact that they got all the sand out of the carpet was great, cleaner than other condos I've been in."

  • Best place we ever stayed

"This is the forth year of our home away from home. It is so nice to come back knowing were everything is at or where it will fit. It is right on the beach and close to shopping and eateries, it is also close to the life guard station- if that is important. The beach is gorgeous with fun for the whole family, with lots of sea shells and dohins. Like I said we love it and plan on coming back for years to come."
