  • I love pacific beach

"My husband and I lived here for 3 months while I worked in San Diego and we loved it! The house is really cute and has a lot of room. The kitchen has all the cookware you need. Christiana and Joe were super nice and were responsive whenever I needed them. The house is set back from the street so I was never disrupted by the noise of the busy road. Also a parking spot is a must in PB because it gets busy, especially on the weekends. I really enjoyed Pacific Beach, there were so many good restaurants ( you have to check out Crushed for the mimosas and Oscars for the tacos) and just a short walk to the beach. However it's a young crowd and it gets busy on weekends so keep that in mind."

  • Great location and facilities

"To start, we have been staying at North Coast Village (NCV) for 10 years. So my review will also be comparing against other properties that are similar in the same facility. I will also mention about the location in general. The description of the condo is very accurate and represented as it is. There is no promise of additional items in the condo for the occupants to use. However I felt that the "supplies" in the condo were very minimal. Compared to previous places we've stayed, there was nothing in the fridge or pantry other than sugar and coffee. The basic practice is to leave any remaining items that will not spoil for the next guest (for example ketchup). This made it difficult as we had to buy everything new. There were minimal supplies for cleaning, only 2 dishwasher tabs were left for the week and 2 rolls of paper towels. The bed in the master was great. Very comfortable, and the bedding was clean and well taken care of. The pull out couch however was not. It was clean and well taken care of, but of very low quality. My boys (9 and 12) had a very difficult time sleeping on it as the springs were very obtrusive. Just sitting on it was difficult. We used all the blankets and extra comforter in the condo to make it manageable, but it was miserable for them. One of them chose to sleep on the floor for more comfort. The beach just in front of NCV is typically very nice and less crowded than all other beaches in Oceanside. It's location close to the pier and the harbor, and the facilities within NCV (mini golf, pool, foosball, ping pong, pools, hot tub) make it ideal for spending an entire week fully entertained in the area without a car. Bonfires on the beach are allowed in designated places, and new restrooms in the area are clean and nice. My only concern is that NCV has no control over when the city decides to dredge the sand from the harbor, and this year they happened to do it late in the season while we were there (June). This means that there was a giant pipe across the beach, heavy equipment, and part of the beach closed. It was also noisy throughout the day, even early in the morning. My recommendation - check with the owner before booking to see if they're dredging the beach so you are aware before you go. Overall the condo was very clean. The fact that they got all the sand out of the carpet was great, cleaner than other condos I've been in."

  • Carlsbad Village at it's best

"We rented the upstairs unit for a month and could not have been more pleased. Vicki was very accommodating and the place was spotless. The housekeepers did a great job, and Robert, who maintains the outside every Saturday, was very thorough. You could not ask for a better location for access to the world class beach, not to mention the close proximity to Carlsbad Village and all it has to offer. We did not get in a car for the first 12 days we were here! The Coaster is a mere three block walk, so more than once we took it to San Diego and other points South. We had house guests twice, and there was plenty of privacy. The sunsets were so stunning we ended up cooking dinner more than we had planned. Overall, El Niño cooperated fully, and we are coming back in 2017."
