  • Great Location and Cozy Stay in San Francisco Bay Area

"My boyfriend and I stayed at this property for four nights during the month of September while on vacation. To start, booking the property was extremely organized and efficient with Rhonda responding immediately and supplying a multitude of useful information regarding her property. This included door codes, wifi, location, and other information regarding the surrounding area. Upon arriving, Rhonda was more than accomodating to our early arrival as she allowed us to store our bags and checkin a couple hours before the designated time. Her and her partner were extremely welcoming, friendly, and left us with a fantastic bottle of wine. We were initially skeptical in booking a property where the owners were close in proximity but Rhonda and her partner were extremely friendly and not overbearing in any capacity. They were an absolute pleasure to deal with and even gave us great suggestions/directions. The ground floor unit you will be staying in opens to a beautiful backyard and garden with your own separate entrance. On a sunny day the backyard is gorgeous - the pictures are a great representation of the property. Upon arrival, our initial impression was that the property was extremely clean and was surprisingly very comfortable despite the temperature being above 25 degrees Celsius and no AC. The appliances are new, the kitchen is stocked with anything you would need to prepare a meal, and the bed is extremely comfortable. There is a good amount of square-footage in the unit and does not feel cramped. The condo is located one block away from Market Street within the Castro area. This area is a safe and fun district for a young couple to enjoy nightlife and has extremely good access to the rest of the bay area through Transit. We encourage anyone staying at this property to simply hop on a tram or bus system to take you anywhere you need to go - there is direct routes to the Wharf, Chinatown, and other popular attractions. Despite the above positives there are a few small issues that any renter should be aware of. The decor is mildly out date so if you're sensitive to these things then maybe you would rethink. Despite this, it was never an issue for us. At times you can hear the individual on the second floor, but once again it was not too intrusive. Overall, we would highly recommend staying at this property for its absolutely amazing location, stocked kitchen, peaceful ambiance, and great owners. We will stay here again if we make it back!"

  • Relaxing escape

"We were 2 old couples and 1 old dog off for a week away from the hustle and bustle of San Francisco, and we loved this place! Imagine strolling 30 feet down a sandy lane to the best part of Stinson beach. You don't even need shoes! We set up our beach spot within easy walking distance of the cottage as well as the cute little downtown and then let the relaxation begin. And it did, all week long. Jerry and Hollis met us to show us around the cottage, and we had everything we needed to cook the many meals we enjoyed together. There was plenty of space to hang out, especially when utilizing what we called 'the napping loft.' The loft space is just above the main living area, and is furnished with daybeds and a big, comfortable recliner. One can rest and read while listening to the conversation going on below, and choose whether to chime in or nod off. It so nice to be able to fall asleep to the sounds of loved ones talking! We could also walk to dinner, which freed us up to enjoy wine with our meals. The small grocery store had all the basics, and the bike rental place is right down the street. (They also rent snorkeling gear.) In fact, we only used our cars once or twice the whole week, when we wanted to explore further north. Highly recommended for those in search of a relaxing beach getaway!"

  • More than we expected

"My wife and I had a wonderful stay at the Honey Bee House. The cottage is very well kept with interesting and attractive furnishings. I particularly appreciated the high quality kitchen appliances and utensils. Fairfax has several good food markets with fresh, local and sustainably produced items so you can put it all to good use. Our hosts were friendly and helpful. It is a fine place to return to after exploring the myriad of beautiful places in the area"

  • I love Stinson Beach and this charming cottage!

"My adult daughter and I stayed here for two nights to explore the coast before heading into the hills of wine country. This place really felt like home. The beds were quite comfy, and the kitchen was great! I am a chef, so know my way around a kitchen. LOL! However, other than breakfast, we really didn't cook because that was why I was on vacation - to let someone else cook for me. The little town of Stinson Beach is quite small, and has a tiny grocery store, but we were surprised at the quality way it was stocked! It seriously looked about the size of a gas station convenience store, but was so wonderful. Guacamole and salsa were stellar as were organic cheeses and produce! The cottage is a very short walk down a cute little path to the beach, and of course close to town. We had such an incredible dinner at the Parkside Cafe, we went back for breakfast! It was also fantastic. As we explored the coast, we stopped at a place right on the highway just north of Stinson Beach, called Tony's. Oysters Bingo might be the best oyster dish I have ever had in my life. It was their version of Oysters Rockefeller and simply delicious. Their shrimp and crab ceviche was unique in presentation and also yummy. Crab was in season, so one day we ate it for breakfast, lunch and dinner! I would definitely stay here again. The location is perfect for someone who doesn't wish to stay right in San Francisco, but wants to explore Muir Woods, and the charming coastal towns like Bolinas."
