  • Relaxing escape

"We were 2 old couples and 1 old dog off for a week away from the hustle and bustle of San Francisco, and we loved this place! Imagine strolling 30 feet down a sandy lane to the best part of Stinson beach. You don't even need shoes! We set up our beach spot within easy walking distance of the cottage as well as the cute little downtown and then let the relaxation begin. And it did, all week long. Jerry and Hollis met us to show us around the cottage, and we had everything we needed to cook the many meals we enjoyed together. There was plenty of space to hang out, especially when utilizing what we called 'the napping loft.' The loft space is just above the main living area, and is furnished with daybeds and a big, comfortable recliner. One can rest and read while listening to the conversation going on below, and choose whether to chime in or nod off. It so nice to be able to fall asleep to the sounds of loved ones talking! We could also walk to dinner, which freed us up to enjoy wine with our meals. The small grocery store had all the basics, and the bike rental place is right down the street. (They also rent snorkeling gear.) In fact, we only used our cars once or twice the whole week, when we wanted to explore further north. Highly recommended for those in search of a relaxing beach getaway!"

  • Wonderful, tranquil escape from San Francisco

"My husband, dog and I spent two nights at this lovely place. The house was clean, quiet, comfortable, bright and airy. Perfect for two people but with the second bedroom, could easily work for two couples or a family. Our dog loved the yard, which was very securely fenced. He kept perfectly busy sunning himself or sniffing around while we relaxed outside on the deck, reading or playing backgammon. Great space to enjoy a glass of wine or your morning coffee. The location is super convenient to town, though we didn't really want to leave the house very often! We did venture out for a drink at smiley's, lunch at Coast Cafe and a long, decadent dinner at Sir and Star in nearby Olema. The house in a great neighborhood for evening strolls, with beautiful country roads leading straight to the ocean. Highly recommended, and looking forward to another stay very soon!"

  • Gem on the bay.

"My husband and I just returned from 5 nights at this adorable cottage. Being right on the water, I had a few concerns (dampness, odor, noise), none of which were experienced. The cottage was clean, bright, charming and very comfortable with a beautiful view. We walked to the ferry but also enjoyed the convenience of the parking spot for our rental car. Though SF is often encased in fog at this time of year, (August), Sausalito was sunny and warmer. Marion was available if we needed her - a perfect hostess. We plan to stay again next time we visit SF."

  • Fantastic private cottage

"I stayed at the Honey Bee with my three year old son earlier this month and had a completely wonderful experience. The cottage is private and very well appointed. We were here for a week in early July and some days were quite warm, but the large ceiling fans kept both the living space and bedroom very comfortable and we both slept very well here. I was a little worried we would be living on top of one another while we shared a one bedroom, but that wasn't the case at all. It is well thought out and there was plenty of room for my son to play and for my parents to come over to visit. We also really enjoyed the several sitting areas in the gardens -the gardens are great! We enjoyed the shade of the beautiful fig trees and really enjoyed watching the bees do their work. The owners were extremely accommodating and welcoming, and overall we had a very relaxing stay here. I love this area and this was great neighborhood, very quiet and peaceful. Thank you for letting us create memories of a great trip home at the Honey Bee. We loved it!"
