  • BEAUTIFUL SETTING FOR A LOVELY GUEST HOUSE

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this wonderful guest house. The setting is amazing as is the view of Santa Clara Valley from the living room and bedroom windows. The kitchen was perfect for cooking our meals and the fridge spacious enough to accommodate a week's worth of food for the three of us. There is a nice outdoor patio which also overlooks the Santa Clara Valley and has a wonderful view especially at night. We appreciated that the owner was available onsite to assist with any problems that arose (although we didn't have any troubles). The cost was very reasonable for the quality of the house and setting. We would absolutely stay here again."

  • I love this place!

"First of all, five stars is not enough, I give it 1000 stars! Writing this review makes me miss your lovely home even more. I am definitely coming back! From the start, Heather, you were so sweet and patient; thank you so much for helping this amateur VRBO traveler... The pictures do no justice for this lovely home which has the forest for its backyard. The home was also very well stocked with everything my family needed (bath soap, laundry soap, flashlight and even disposable razors) and were thankful for. Most if not all the major appliances were like brand new, including the washer/dryer. Heather recommended a variety of places to eat and wineries to try. Our favorite places were Willy's and Chalkboard! The chef at Chalkboard is a food wizard! The wineries were so nice too! Anyway, getting back to the lovely home. The master bedroom downstairs, was so nice and spacious with it's own cute little porch, making it very private from the rest of the home. There was also a bed upstairs on the beautiful outdoor covered porch which my whole family took turns napping on, whether to soak up the morning sun or enjoy the evening listening to the owl. This was also where we would plan our next day because there was so much room and seating to accommodate us all. Oh, please don't hesitate to water the pretty plant between the doors. When we first arrived, it's poor leaves were so droopy and sad, looking like it was dying. So, I watered it and to my amazement the next morning, all of the leaves were perked up and so pretty. I don't normally do well with plants, but this one was special. We also played horse shoe in the back yard and relaxed by having a few drinks and taking in the vast view of Healdsburg. One more thing, the drive to the house is a bit windy, but sooo beautiful. Just try to make it before nightfall. We arrived at 11pm, making it a little difficult to find the house and having teenage girls made it more dramatic! The road nearing the home was very narrow and a little spooky when trying to turn around, but I think that's why I miss it so much, my wild and adventurous side came alive. Also, if renting a car, please rent a small one...it'll make parking way easier. Lastly, the steps to the house are many, but well worth it for sure--top of the world! Just bring your inhaler, just kidding. It was a great way to work off all the delicious food we ate at Chalkboard. I can go on and on...JUST STAY HERE, you won't regret it!"

  • Exceeded every expectation!

"Choosing a property based on photos, owner description, and reviews is always a risk...and we couldn't have been happier with the payoff with the bungalow on Lighthouse. From the initial contact with Alan and Brit, to very fair pricing, to the home being ready for our arrival after an 11 hour drive with two teens, our family's experience was perfect. The house is beautiful and retro-funky, comfortable, exceedingly well-appointed, and the location was absolutely perfect (minutes to grocery, restaurants, kayaking, the university, and Mission...and an easy walk to the Boardwalk, beach, and amazing cliff walk trail). Every detail made our stay 5-star: the kitchen has everything you need, the beds are comfy, the linens are quality, the washer and dryer are virtually new, you get off-street parking (which is huge), and the landscaping shows how much the owners care about the property...you feel at home, not like a "rental." Our kids rode the bikes provided, we grilled, there's DirectTV, a Mac computer in the master bedroom to help plan activities and get info about the house... I could go on. Cons? Honestly, none...maybe having one bathroom if you don't want to share. The bottom line is we weren't 5 minutes out of Santa Cruz before we started discussing retuning and staying at the bungalow."

  • Great experience

"The fact that the place is right in the heart of Russian river in wine country is awesome, the place is small but peaceful and just what we needed it Cheri gave us basil and heirloom cherry tomatoes from her garden and of course we made a nice salad with it! Over all everything was great. Thank you"
