  • Excellent Location!

"The property was very clean and cosy, the bed very comfortable, and the location was in a lovely wooded area of town. The location was perfect for accessing Muir Woods and San Francisco. The hike up Mount Tam. was awesome, but not an easy one. The trail is not marked very well, there are steep stairs to climb, and some road walking with very little space between you and the car traffic. We had lunch at the top at the Mountain Home Inn which offered beautiful views and good food. The round trip hike took us about 4 hours. The Muir Beach Overlook is a must do, for the views at this spot are just stunningly beautiful. We highly recommend Kendra's cottage if your in the Mill Valley area."

  • A wonderful retreat

"We were looking for a weekend getaway for a small group of new moms who have been friends for years. Somewhere peaceful was essential and this fit the bill perfectly. The view and the deck are amazing as the pictures would lead you to believe. We walked to the popular hiking trails that lead us to Muir Woods. The drive from the main highway is a little tricky, so I recommend making it during the day the first time. Everything was clean and in excellent condition. Vessy left us to ourselves but left lots of useful printed information, which is my idea of a perfect host!"

  • Beautiful home in an awesome location!!

"Everything about this property is as described in the reviews that we relied upon before making our booking. The house is situated on the side of a hill above Mill Valley and it affords absolutely stunning vistas over the bay to San Francisco. We could not get over these and spent ages just taking them all in.The house has all of the amenities that are described on this site and the extras such as visiting wildlife and the silence are to be emphasized. We stayed for around 4 weeks and although we never met the owner or her agent, there was adequate contact by e-mail. The house was very well furnished and very comfortable to live in. We understand that the bed is new and king-sized. Extremely comfortable!! You will find the drive up to the property to be initially a bit hair-raising but after you have gone up and down the road a few times it is not too big a problem. Mill Valley itself is a nice little town, with good restaurants and other worthwhile facilities. It is very close to ferry ports which allow access to the City and also to the road network. If ever we get back to visit this part of California, we will be sure to check out the property. We have no hesitation in recommending this property to you."

  • 10 minutes from Bob Weir's Sweetwater, easy commute, 5 minute walk downtown. dog friendly.

"My wife and I and our Irish setter stayed six nights. I lived in Mill Valley in the 1970s and we visit frequently. I was attending a conference in the City and needed a comfortable place and an easy commute. I had just a 5 minute walk to the commuter bus each morning in the center of town. My wife was able to walk our setter around town easily, take him quickly to the Marin Headlands in 15-20 minutes, get a coffee at the Depot or Peets in a 6-7 minute walk. Each evening I was dropped off back in town and walked 5 minutes back to the studio. We had just one issue...no internet, and we were immediately given an alternative password. The kitchenette is limited but works and there are lots of places to get food. Whole Foods with an extensive takeout is on the same street...Miller, as is Safeway with their deli. Also close on Miller is Super Duper Burger which also has magnificent veggie burgers. And just 10 minutes away by foot are great restaurants downtown. The refrigerator is the little dorm style and held leftovers just fine, but the freezer was unusable due to thick ice build-up. Perhaps its been addressed by now. If you like live music and great food, the Grateful Dead's Bob Weir's Sweetwater club is perhaps a 12 minute walk from the studio. This not a detached unit. The owner's description is a must read. They describe in advance any domestic sounds you may experience. We didn't find it an issue."
