  • Wonderful Place for a Gathering!

"I rented this home for my husband's birthday and his six bike riding buddies. Everyone raved about the house, location and hospitality of the host. The bike riding, on-site wine tasting, nearby restaurants, etc., were wonderful. The house was clean and well equipped for hanging out and cooking. Would definitely rent this house again!"

  • best location in Bolinas

"We've stayed in other Bolinas vacation rentals. This by far is the best location. Only a few feet to the Channel and beach and on the Lagoon with picture window views of the Lagoon and mountainous Bolinas Ridge in the background. You can access the water from the deck. The kayaks provided a great way to enjoy wildlife up close. The cottage is very comfortable. Lots of nooks to hang out, all with great views. The deck is sunny and warm (for our week anyway). Love watching those seals. The kitchen is well equipped, roomy and open. Wifi is fast enough. TV has streaming capabilities. Although it's one bedroom, we had no trouble using the fold out couch for another family member. A child also can sleep on the cushion of the living room window box. A second bathroom provides some privacy if there is more than a couple. The title "Magical Cottage..." is appropriate."

  • We hope to make this a family tradition!

"My family of four just spent the Christmas holidays at this charming, wonderful house. And even though it rained almost every day of our visit, the weather could not put a damper on our trip, largely because we absolutely loved staying in this house. (My husband joked that he hoped the owners wouldn't mind a lodger... because he was not planning to leave). The owners opened their home to us as if we were their close friends. And my daughter was so inspired by their art that she came home and tried to replicate it. More than anything, though, we just knew that we were staying in the home of a happy, warm family (odd as that sounds given that we never met them!). I am a Bay Area native and know Marin County well. You cannot beat the location for a true "Marin" experience: close to the city, but an absolute retreat. Best things: the views at sunrise and sunset; their extensive, interesting library and art collection; relaxing in the hot tub on a rainy evening; driving the "back way" to Pt. Reyes. Also, the proximity to open space trails means you can hike in the morning with views of the SF skyline and the East Bay, then make into the city for lunch in Chinatown. The neighborhood is great for running, too. Truly, this house (and its location) exceeded our expectations."

  • A magical retreat

"Stayed here for a family celebration and all of us, from toddler to middle schooler to grandparents alike, were so smitten with this place. It was filled with great books, a few great toys, and the kitchen items of my dreams (the best rental kitchen I've ever encountered). I spent much of my time fantasizing about my own family living there--it was so comfortable and tasteful and perfect. We ate outside, played on the rope swing, cooked up numerous feasts, and even played tennis down the road! Margaret was a pleasure to communicate with. Couldn't recommend more highly!"
