  • Lovely, spacious & in the heart of SF

"For the nightly price of a downtown hotel room we rented Mary’s Place and lived like San Franciscans in a classic Edwardian house with original carved moldings, high ceilings, and light-filled rooms. We found this 2-bedroom home to be exactly as described: roomy, tidy and a pleasure to stay in. We loved the wonderful outdoor space in back. Mary’s Place has a Lower Haight Street vibe – casual, eclectic, and welcoming. There are tons of restaurants, coffee houses, and shops nearby. A huge Safeway is two blocks away, open round the clock. San Francisco is a walking city and it’s easy to walk out the front door and start exploring neighborhoods: Duboce Triange, The Castro, Upper Haight Street, trendy Hayes Valley, The Fillmore, Japantown, and Pacific Heights. To travel further, Church Street Station’s underground Muni trains are only a few blocks away. A crosstown bus stops at the corner. Big plus: off-street parking. We had a car and avoided hunting for a legal parking spot among the complicated system of street cleaning times, bus zones, short curbs, and neighbors-only parking restrictions. Note: you’ll hear the sounds of the city from the front rooms, including the 22-Fillmore electric bus passing by. However, it gets quiet after 10pm. Mary’s Place is a gem. Authentic San Francisco. Highly recommend."

  • Perfect

"We have stayed at many homes in San Francisco using VRBO and this apt will be at the top of the list. It was exceptionally clean, convenient to everything and safe. We did not do a lot of cooking but I felt the kitchen was well stocked. There were ample amount of towels and amenities in the bathroom . There is also very nice washer and dryer provided. We took advantage of the garage parking which was helpful due to not many spaces available on the street. However, the apt is so convenient you don't really need a car. I can not say enough good things about this apt, it is a gem. I hope to return again and stay there (if it isn't already booked)!!"

  • The Best of the Best A+

"Bill and Allen are wonderful hosts, they made us feel like part of the family. There wasn't one thing we would have changed, unless it was staying longer. Thank you for a great getaway and we look forward to coming back soon."

  • Great space in wonderfully located neighborhood.

"Strategically located flat in a great neighborhood. Easy walking access to numerous adjacent neighborhoods (the Mission, Castro and Lower Haight) with many restaurant and shopping options. Muni and Market Street trains nearby. Good neighborhood coffee shops for quick breakfast or lunch. The space itself is clean and comfortable and opens onto a great garden sitting & eating area. The apartment is stocked with all the essentials. Beds are very comfortable! Communication with Holly the owner was prompt and easy via texts. Would definitely rent this space again, if available, for future visits."
