  • Great Place..Comfort and cool

"Had a family vacation for almost a week and loved this place. The off street parking was a huge plus (garage) and our owner Arthur does a great job all the way around. We found the neighborhood fun to explore and the location was easy to launch our day from. Can't wait to come will be soon."

  • Lovely, spacious & in the heart of SF

"For the nightly price of a downtown hotel room we rented Mary’s Place and lived like San Franciscans in a classic Edwardian house with original carved moldings, high ceilings, and light-filled rooms. We found this 2-bedroom home to be exactly as described: roomy, tidy and a pleasure to stay in. We loved the wonderful outdoor space in back. Mary’s Place has a Lower Haight Street vibe – casual, eclectic, and welcoming. There are tons of restaurants, coffee houses, and shops nearby. A huge Safeway is two blocks away, open round the clock. San Francisco is a walking city and it’s easy to walk out the front door and start exploring neighborhoods: Duboce Triange, The Castro, Upper Haight Street, trendy Hayes Valley, The Fillmore, Japantown, and Pacific Heights. To travel further, Church Street Station’s underground Muni trains are only a few blocks away. A crosstown bus stops at the corner. Big plus: off-street parking. We had a car and avoided hunting for a legal parking spot among the complicated system of street cleaning times, bus zones, short curbs, and neighbors-only parking restrictions. Note: you’ll hear the sounds of the city from the front rooms, including the 22-Fillmore electric bus passing by. However, it gets quiet after 10pm. Mary’s Place is a gem. Authentic San Francisco. Highly recommend."

  • Perfect Retreat in Perfect Neighborhood in Perfect City

"Though we've had many trips to San Francisco, we've never stayed in the Haight. The neighborhood afforded a "local" experience with fabulous restaurants and lots of transportation options to explore the city. We "fell into" Café du Soleil every morning for coffee, croissants, and extraordinary French Toast. Emmanuel Coffee was also a favorite, including awesome Mexican and Salvadorian specialties--they were even open on Xmas Day. Indian Oven also delighted our palates for dinner. This lovely cottage made it hard to leave and explore. The photographs are true to life, depicting the cottage's warmth, charm, coziness and comfort. I had a hard time deciding which Persian rug or antique I liked best, though the Redwood dining room table was a fave. And the gardens are heavenly, adding to the ambience and aesthetic. The kitchen was well stocked and easily operated. The property manager, Angela, also was charming and easy to work with. We heartily recommend this outstanding property and neighborhood for any visit to San Francisco!"
