  • Ultimate Home Away from Home

"Margie and Larry are exceptional hosts! Warm and attentive, they definitely want your stay to be perfect and work very hard to achieve that end. By the end of your stay, they will be more than just hosts--they will be friends! My family from Mississippi stayed here during the Christmas holidays through New Years and as soon as they arrived--they felt instantly at home. The house is absolutely gorgeous and could not be in a more perfect location. Close to the Marina, Golden Gate Bridge, and the Palace of Fine Arts, there are endless possibilities for walking adventures. And with Chestnut Street just a few blocks away, shopping/dining opportunities abound. The views are unbelievable and you could certainly spend an entire day by the window just watching the world go by. My family cooks a lot and the kitchen was just perfect for preparing meals and the dining room easily hosts dinner for 10 or 12. The upstairs deck and balconies offer some of the best views in San Francisco and as my mother said about Alcatraz "I can almost touch it!" The bedrooms are all very comfortable, clean and rival any luxury hotel. The living room is a great spot of groups to settle in and chat after a nice meal! As a resident of San Francisco, I am truly envious of Margie's washer/dryer--makes quick work of any laundry you may have during your stay!! There are not enough good adjectives to properly describe what a great experience you will have as a guest in Margie and Larry's home. Traveling is often work in itself and having a landing/launching pad such as this will help you relax, renew and revive so you can set off on your own amazing journey in San Francisco!!! Thanks again Margie and Larry!!! The Biloxi Crew will surely be back again!"

  • Fantastic location in SF

"This is a great place to be - to get to anywhere easily - with plenty of shops and restaurants in the nearby areas. A very short walk to the bus stop with the #45 bus taking you right to the heart of the city. Some noise from the two bars that are near the condo, but the bedroom windows are double paned and block it well. This is our 2nd time to stay here for a month each time and we recommend it."

  • Beautiful views and perfect locatioin

"We very much enjoyed our stay in this beautiful place. It was cold and rainy the entire time we were there, so we did not get a chance to spend time on either the amazing upper deck or the balcony off the livingroom with views of the Bay and the Golden Gate Bridge. Luckily the entire front of the apartment is glass, so you can soak up the views without going outside. The beds were very comfortable, but I would have preferred just one bed in the bedroom to allow tables on both sides so you have a place to put your book, water, phone, etc. The one table between the beds is entirely taken up by an overly large lamp. An alarm clock would also be nice, as there is nowhere to plug in your phone in the bedroom. And there are no drawers anywhere, so you can't unpack your suitcase. The bathroom is very nice, and the kitchen is great. The furniture all looks nice, but some is in disrepair and could use some work--wobbly stools at the kitchen bar counter that you really don't want to sit on, shredded fabric on chairs in livingroom. There was someone else's food in the refrigerator and cupboards and someone's personal toiletries in the bathroom, which was a bit offputting. Some of the larger dishes that don't go in the dishwasher, as well as a couple of the kitchen knives, were less than clean. I would suggest the owner invest in cable TV. The bedroom TV is the only one that gets a few local stations; otherwise, it is only Netflix, so there is nowhere to watch the news or favorite shows unless you want to do it in bed. But the drawbacks are outweighed by the beautiful views and perfect location in the Marina, our favorite part of San Francisco in which to stay. The owner was very responsive and mostly nice, generously allowing us to entertain a few friends one afternoon (for an extra $200 cleaning fee paid to the owner and not through VRBO, which the owner kept even though we did all the cleanup ourselves). After our stay, she at first denied that we had made a $1,500 damage deposit and wasn't going to give it back. She then saw that it was confirmed on VRBO and refunded it, telling me in an email that this was a loss for her (although if she had kept it, the nightly charge would have been $662!). I suggest being careful to get everything in writing. But overall, this is a very good place to stay."
