Miraloma Park vacation rentals

Our family of four stayed here while taking an impromptu family vacation to the area. The house was plenty large enough for us all to have our own space to relax at the end of long days and had a great balcony and garden in the back - something rare to find in the area. The house I believe is from the turn of the century but it’s been well updated and maintained. The kitchen seemed almost brand new and the house was in immaculate shape. The house has two bedrooms on the upstairs entry level as well as a full bathroom. There was also a downstairs bedroom and full bath but we didn’t use the room to sleep in. The house was very conveniently located. Easy access to the highway. Maybe 15-20 to the warf and there was a supermarket (Safeway) maybe 5 minutes away on top of the hill. The street had next to no traffic on it and for those healthy and able it was a great neighborhood to take a stroll in. My oldest and I walked down to the shopping area one night for dinner and got a good workout in on the walk back up. This stay had the sweetest of cats. It was one of the main reasons we picked the location. He has his own door and mostly hung out outside during the day and came in for attention at night. He did take a minute to warm up when we found him outside the first day but quickly was our friend after feeding him. We would certainly stay again if we come back to the area.

Due to a medical emergency, I never made it to this property, which may leave you wondering, "So why is this guy leaving a review?" It's because I wanted to share that the host took my extenuating circumstances into consideration to give me a refund, despite not purchasing trip protection. Life threw me a MASSIVE curveball, but I'm incredibly grateful that the host was able to give me a refund, which I'll be using for medical bills. I hate that it resulted in a few days of lost revenue for the host, but their consideration shows that they really care about the people staying on their property. I did rate the communication as subpar, because I'm not entirely sure that the messages are monitored once a reservation has been completed. However, the customer support team was top notch, and was able to get in touch with the host, and they responded almost immediately. I mean this as genuinely as possible, but thank you to the customer support and the host for showing kindness and empathy during a whopper of an emergency. Finally, I rated the cleanliness, etc. based on others experiences, and the photos. Just want to be completely transparent about that. However, I used to life in San Francisco, and know this neighborhood. It's an absolute delight. Just far away enough from everything for a quite experience, but close enough to easy transportation and nearby amenities. In other words, very, very walkable.

Positives: Lovely unique home with an amazing backyard garden space. Comfy beds. Close-enough to all of the high points of the city, without being right in all of it. Access to hiking trails literally across the street. Home/neighborhood felt very safe. 12 min walk to BART station. Good/prompt communication from the owner. Negatives: Located on a busy street; traffic could be heard throughout the night from the main/front bedroom. Parking in the private drive is a real challenge, particularly with a larger vehicle or during busy times of day (you have to back-in to the driveway, off the main street; you can alternatively park on the street). The kitchen is "vintage" which has a certain charm, but the oven (sticky knobs, need to manually light) and sink (touchy knobs, no disposal) were both a little finnicky, and there's not a lot of counter/prep space. Overall: we were pleased with the experience and would consider staying here again.

Stuart was a wonderful host, very helpful and considerant. Nieghborhood is nearby as is the muni into downtown. Only drawback is the fog and wind depending on the time of year. Would stay again.

This was the perfect home and location for our visit to SF. It was so clean, cozy and comfortable with everything you need to feel "at home." Debra is a wonderful host and personally welcomed us which was such a bonus! It's a block away from several great restaurants in West Portal. We rented a car and parking is included-a huge plus since we didn't have to worry about street parking. It's easy to get to other parts of the city like Golden Gate Park, the Presidio, the Marina and the Golden Gate Bridge. And, SF Muni/Metro station is right there in West Portal for easy access to downtown. It's a fabulous home and our go-to for future visits!

My family had a wonderful stay. The home and owner are amazing. The home is spotless and well appointed, and fully stocked. The backyard is cozy with beautiful lemon trees and the front balcony his a relaxing view. the owner went the extra mile to meet our needs. From the welcome basket with delicious fruit snacks and wine, you don’t have to worry about where to find food after a long journey or where to find coffee in the morning. We were even met with markers and toys specifically for my kids! I asked one morning if there were measuring cups in the kitchen and she had some delivered that afternoon! The owner also helped me plan several activities for my family. Every recommendation was spot on. We will be back!

The neighborhood is upscale with actual street parking. Public transportation is 2 blocks away. The property is absolutely lovely.The unit was well stocked, very comfortable, and homey. Eclectic decor and artwork. I wish i could live there. The hosts were superb!
