  • Beautiful, spacious apartment in a great location

"I stayed at this apartment with three friends. It was very comfortable, and had all of the things we needed, including fresh towels, extra blankets, and toiletries. The location is great with easy access to public transport. Anjal was available if we needed anything, and gave us space to enjoy the beautiful balcony with gorgeous succulent garden. The apartment is beautifully decorated with small San Francisco touches, as well as wonderful artwork. There is even a folder with tons of tips for the area. We particularly liked the route Anjal had marked out to avoid the steep hills. The perfect San Francisco experience! Thank you, Anjal."

  • Very comfortable flat in good location

"Excellent 2-bedroom apartment provides space for relaxing as well as a large kitchen for meals. Great appliances, including washer and dryer, plates and cutlery, and adequate cooking pans, bowls and utensils. Fold-out couch in the living room is not particularly comfortable, but that's to be expected. Spotlessly clean. It would have been nice to have some information on the close-by bus routes and BART, plus information on how to purchase tickets and passes. Once we figured that out, we found that the site is very well located to be able to get to anywhere you want to go."

  • Great place to stay in SF

"My wife and I just spent a week in San Francisco and thoroughly enjoyed it. Dana's sunroom was ideal for us. It was clean and the location, in a neighborhood that was quiet, where the people were friendly, and that felt very safe to walk around in, was just what we wanted. Within easy walking distance were some restaurants and a Whole Foods market, as well as small shops and convenience stores. We particularly liked Casa Mexicana on Church St. for fresh, tasty Mexican food. We had no need to rent a car, preferring to use public transportation. The nearest MUNI stop is within a 5 minute walk and connects to any part of the city you would want to visit. Buying a CityPass or a weekly MUNI pass makes it economical as well. And as the weekly rate for the rental was so reasonable, much cheaper than staying in a downtown hotel, more money could be spent on enjoying the many activities available in the bay area. We particularly enjoyed visiting Muir Woods, the Coit Tower, the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz (on a night tour, which is less crowded than ones during the day), and ATT Park for a Giants game. I highly recommend, if you are able to handle the walking, the Real SF tour, which, between walking and using public transportation, is a day-long, small-group guided tour of many neighborhoods and sites in the city. We took it on our first day and as it was so informative about the history of the city and it's various neighborhoods, helped us greatly during the remainder of our stay to make use of the MUNI easier, to appreciate the diversity of the city, and to help us decide which neighborhoods and attractions we wanted to explore further. During our stay Dana was the perfect host, helpful and concerned that our visit was going smoothly. He was always available if needed but in no way intrusive. To be fair with this review, there are a few, small quirks about the sunroom that we had to adjust to but they were quite minor, namely no sink in the bathroom and no available freezer/ice maker if you wanted ice cubes for a drink. And as Dana makes everyone well aware in his listing, there is the 43-step, twisty flight of stairs that must be climbed to reach the sunroom. We are both in our mid-50s and while it is certainly navigable, it does require some care doing so. But again, to us these were all minor inconveniences and we would definitely stay here again if we were to return to San Francisco. Thanks for everything Dana--we had a great vacation!"

  • Excellent Choice!

"We recently returned from our trip to San Francisco and we could not have been happier with the accommodation provided by Jay the owner. The location was perfect for us, during the day we would venture into the city to see the "touristy" sites as well as some of the lesser known things to do and see. At the end of the day we would return to a nice quiet, safe location and fall asleep to barely a sound from outdoors..perhaps the odd car on the street but the hustle and bustle of downtown is just far enough away to allow you to decompress after alot of walking. The apartment is in a very hip area of SF, the Mission District is only minutes away on foot, the Castro is the same only in the opposite direction. Delores Park is just up the hill (everything in SF is up a hill, so bring good comfortable shoes like runners or proper walking shoes), Delores Park was a nice area to chill out in the evening and it seems all the young people from the area gather there to drink wine, play frisbee and see the city from one of the best vantage points in the entire city. There is a market in the same building and we were able to pick up any provisions we needed during our stay. For a big grocery order there is a Whole Foods about a 5-10 minute walk away, and a Safeway about a 20 minute walk away or easily stopped at by the transit system. The transit stops are very handy to the apartment as well, the F train (or maybe the J train) stops just at the top of the hill from the apartment (maybe 3 minutes on foot). This train will take you directly downtown where you can easily grab another part of the transit system to go virtually anywhere you need to go. There is also the BART system that is about a 15 minute walk down along the Mission District that will take you quickly either downtown or to the airport. We did use Uber a few times until we became familiar with the transit systems then we only took trains, cable cars or the BART to go anywhere. The bus system also works very well, we took the bus into Haight & Ashbury which only took about 15 minutes. Jay keeps this apartment immaculate and it is decorated in a cool hip retro kind of way, very funky and fun to come back to. I wish we had more time to enjoy his upstairs patio. This is not a party place, it is in a nice upscale area and well looked after. Jay was a wonderful host and provided plenty of tips and advice for getting around the city. We would definitely return without hesitation."
