  • The lodge was fantastic.

"We had a family wedding to attend and were looking for a location that could accommodate from 9 to 11 people instead of getting a bunch of hotel rooms. The Alexander Valley Lodge fit the bill perfectly. The 6 days we were there just flew by. The lodge is spread out on various levels with views looking over the valley, amazing. It's a very comfortable home, we were very happy with our choice. The lodge was as described in the website and it was neat and clean. If you are a large family or group of friends looking to go up to wine country for whatever reason do take a look at the Alexander Valley Lodge for your stay you will love it and not want to go home. • Fabulous apartment with Golden Gate Bridge View

"Magalli's apartment is five-star in my opinion. Light, bright, beautifully furnished with real 'wow' factors all the way through. Easy access when following instructions - stairs lead to wonderful open plan kitchen (or Cafe Lele) with all mod-cons to allow for self-catering. Living room is 'to die for' with unobstructed views (when the fog allows), cool bean bag corner, amazing full-size dining table and full-screen TV for when you can tear your eyes away from the 360 degree view. Bedroom has two very comfortable beds, could sleep four at a push but one bed per person is more comfortable. Big screen TV in bedroom makes it difficult to get up in the morning! Sofabed plus rollaway bed (rollaway pushed together with the sofa bed) makes big enough space for second couple, though not quite as comfortable. Our second couple had been staying in AirBnBs ranging from isolated cabins to renovated sea containers so the arrangements here were very much appreciated and comfortable, though there are no drapes on the floor to ceiling glass windows, so light sleepers may find it more difficult. The roof deck is spectacular and we kept creeping up there for a viewing of the amazing 360 degree views of the city and the bridge - though it was too chilly and foggy to make the best of it when we visited. The gas BBQ unfortunately would not light when we were there - not sure if the gas had run out, but it was a bit chilly to we decide to eat in the kitchen anyway, no big deal. Can't recommend this highly enough - the Marina district is a fantastic location - 10 minutes walk to Ghiradelli and Fisherman's Wharf in one direction, walk to the Presidio Park easily reached in the other direction.. Marina is a very pleasant walk and area to hang around in. Fort Mason parking lot provided free parking for two nights, despite signs that state 2 hour parking only. We didn't get any problem parking there for three days. Book this apartment, you'll love it like we did."

  • We love the Red House.

"It's a beach house direct from central casting. Wooden stairs, generous decks, oversized sofas, puzzles, seashells , books all just steps from the beach and with a fenced-in yard. We appreciated the yard. After chasing balls on the beach and running through the waves, our two dogs were safely enclosed as they dozed and dried off in the sun. It was an unexpected gift--our schedule and the Red House's coincided; there we were for a mid week three day break at the end of August. Quiet mornings, long beach walks, strolls to town for indulgent breakfasts led to reading on the deck, pausing to take in the ocean. We settled in for afternoon naps deciding among the sofas in the expansive living room, the extra deep one in the snug den off the kitchen or on a lounge chair outside on the upper deck. We chose a break from cooking in favor of walking the five minutes to town each night to try a different spot for dinner. Had we been game, the well-appointed kitchen offered a light, bright and airy space to prepare meals. At night we left the door open to the deck off the bedroom to let the full sound of the surf lull us to sleep and gently wake us in the morning. The Red House is a special place--warm, welcoming, comfortable. The owners clearly understand beach houses and their community. Notes by the phone guide you to their favorite places and to appreciate their town. It's personal enough so you know someone cares, but not so much that it overwhelms or intrudes. It is a family home for you to make your own."

  • This home is paradise!!!

"An incredible view of the entire valley, a wonderful open, airy interior, and very smartly furnished. A fantastic pool. Bring your friends and you may decide you don't need to go anywhere, the place is that perfect. Definitely plan to return again."
