  • Relaxing escape

"We were 2 old couples and 1 old dog off for a week away from the hustle and bustle of San Francisco, and we loved this place! Imagine strolling 30 feet down a sandy lane to the best part of Stinson beach. You don't even need shoes! We set up our beach spot within easy walking distance of the cottage as well as the cute little downtown and then let the relaxation begin. And it did, all week long. Jerry and Hollis met us to show us around the cottage, and we had everything we needed to cook the many meals we enjoyed together. There was plenty of space to hang out, especially when utilizing what we called 'the napping loft.' The loft space is just above the main living area, and is furnished with daybeds and a big, comfortable recliner. One can rest and read while listening to the conversation going on below, and choose whether to chime in or nod off. It so nice to be able to fall asleep to the sounds of loved ones talking! We could also walk to dinner, which freed us up to enjoy wine with our meals. The small grocery store had all the basics, and the bike rental place is right down the street. (They also rent snorkeling gear.) In fact, we only used our cars once or twice the whole week, when we wanted to explore further north. Highly recommended for those in search of a relaxing beach getaway!"

  • Magical Oasis Will Not Disappoint

"My husband and I just spent a week at Magical Oasis with our children and young grandchildren. The location and view from the house has to be one of, if not the, best in Santa Cruz. We all loved sitting out on the front porch and in the family room with its large picture window and swivel chairs overlooking the bay. The weather was spectacular and we enjoyed grilling and having dinner most evenings on the back patio. The kids especially enjoyed use of the bikes, surfboards, hiking and ending the evening in the hot tub. I loved waking in the morning to hear the seals barking in the bay. The house was very well equipped and the owner most thoughtful to have a bottle of wine, chocolates and fresh flowers throughout awaiting our arrival. We really did have a wonderful week and would definitely stay at Magical Oasis again."

  • Beautiful views and tranquil setting.

"Our group of 3 couples was lucky enough to spend 6 nights at this home. When you first opened the door it lived up to every picture posted on the VRBO site. There were sweeping views of the bay that could be seen through the large windows of the home, that is if you didn't want to enjoy them from the super large outdoor balcony with comfy furniture. The backyard was enclosed by lush greenery in which you could find private areas to explore and relax. We used the house as our base while we explored many of the sites that Northern California has to offer, San Francisco, Sausalito, wine country, Monterrey and Carmel etc. The owner Shannon and his wife sent us many suggestions on where to visit during our stay. They also provided a binder which contained everything you needed to know about operating appliances in their home and local stores and restaurants. Our only regret is that we did not build in enough down time to enjoy the beauty and tranquility of the house and its setting. We were on the go too much of the time. Would definitely love to come back for a more relaxing visit ."

  • Gorgeous sunsets

"I stayed at this retreat for my 50th birthday celebration with 4 family members. The property is high up the mountain, taking approximately 20 minutes from downtown Napa, but it is completely worth it when you get there. The house was clean and had everything we needed. The view from the house is spectacular! After full days in Napa, we were looking forward to spending our evenings at the house, sitting at the deck with a bottle of wine and watch the sunset which was absolutely gorgeous and cooking dinner. Michael gave us a nice complimentary tour of the property and wine cave. The wine tasting was in the cave and the wines were excellent! Kiky was very responsive and had helpful advice for local attractions and restaurants. We highly recommend this property to others and will definitely stay there again!"
