  • Perfect Family Vacation

"The castle house was just wonderful ! It was a perfect place for two young children ages 18mos and 5 1/2.., the deck is beyond perfect and the proximity to the beach made the setting so surreal: The only complaint I had was that our stay was too short! Next year - 2 weeks! In addition the owner was quick to respond and everything was exactly as she said it would be.. We made great memories here!"

  • Great Stinson family rental

"This past weekend, my wife, 2 toddlers (4 year old twins), 17 year old daughter, Friend with his own toddler (4) and 7 year old all stayed at this "Comfortable family beach house". This is the second time in the past two years that we have stayed at this home and every time I walk away with such a great experience. My only regrets is wishing we could stay longer. The owner has done an excellent job stocking the kitchen and bathrooms with everything you could want to cook or take care of your family. We stay at a lot of VRBO rentals, but always find they are missing measuring cups, or some basic spices, or paper products. But at this place, every time I turned around it was like being at home. We brought the food and drinks, but everything else was covered. The home was clean, spacious, child friendly and a perfect distance to the beach. If and when the fog came up, there was plenty to do back at the house and it was wind protected there also. Although we were not a big party, we had a bunch of cars, which is always a problem in Stinson. There was plenty of parking, on the property, behind locked gates for all of our cars. The owners were very accommodating and met every need and/or want we had. I can not say enough, and will definitely return as soon as possible."

  • Relaxing escape

"We were 2 old couples and 1 old dog off for a week away from the hustle and bustle of San Francisco, and we loved this place! Imagine strolling 30 feet down a sandy lane to the best part of Stinson beach. You don't even need shoes! We set up our beach spot within easy walking distance of the cottage as well as the cute little downtown and then let the relaxation begin. And it did, all week long. Jerry and Hollis met us to show us around the cottage, and we had everything we needed to cook the many meals we enjoyed together. There was plenty of space to hang out, especially when utilizing what we called 'the napping loft.' The loft space is just above the main living area, and is furnished with daybeds and a big, comfortable recliner. One can rest and read while listening to the conversation going on below, and choose whether to chime in or nod off. It so nice to be able to fall asleep to the sounds of loved ones talking! We could also walk to dinner, which freed us up to enjoy wine with our meals. The small grocery store had all the basics, and the bike rental place is right down the street. (They also rent snorkeling gear.) In fact, we only used our cars once or twice the whole week, when we wanted to explore further north. Highly recommended for those in search of a relaxing beach getaway!"

  • Seaside Paradise

"First, the ocean beckons as you turn down the lane. Then, when you step through The Little Whaler's gate, you'll catch the waves whispering: "You're here". Next - just lift the latch, and the dearest little cottage-by-the-sea opens its arms and fairly sings "Welcome Home"! "Charming perfection" is not an exaggeration. Every square inch is exactly what I'd do, if this was my beach home (and if I'd thought of it.) We felt like pampered house guests, enjoying the owner's creative and solicitous hospitality - almost too relaxed to leave our private paradise. But one should adventure into the historic and engaging small town, at least for the incredible breakfasts and enchanting book store. The Little Whaler is a big hit with us! Can't wait to return."
