  • Great stay for 2 weeks of work

"Great stay for 2 weeks of work! In the bay area for a 2 week photo shoot. There were 3 of us spending evenings bbqing on the deck outside. Lots of room on the deck. Rooms and beds were comfortable. The house is in a great location. Close to biking trails and stores. Spent the weekend biking to Tiburon and Belvedere. Easy to get into the city from here too. We are hoping to stay again on our next shoot!"

  • Wonderful!

"We had a wonderful ladies' weekend at Star West Ranch. The house itself is incredible, and we dubbed it the "goddess" house because of all the wonderful "goddesses" decorating the space. The way the house is laid out ensures lots of personal space as well as wonderful communal dining and hanging out spaces! The outdoors are amazing! We made use of the outdoor shower, grill, and dining areas! The hostess was incredibly accommodating both before our visit and during our stay. Highly recommended, and would love to stay here again in the future."

  • Caveat renter

"Fine place, if designed a bit funky: Neither of the bathrooms is on the bedroom floor. And there is no water view, in case you mistakenly inferred that from all the harbor and beach photos and references. Three days before arrival I heard from the fulltime tenant downstairs, a splendid person, who manages the rental: "[O]ur bedroom is directly below the kitchen/dining area and there is minimal insulation between. Removal of shoes at all times and your conscientious use of the space (particularly in evening through morning hours) and nighttime use of the lower bathroom is truly appreciated." Lastly, the owner told me when I inquired that there was an extra mattress. My brother ended up lugging the heavy and extremely unwieldy futon mattress upstairs from the garage. Otherwise, a fine time was had by all."

  • A beautiful beach house to experience the Santa Cruz vibe.

"We rented this house for the third time. I think that says it all. The perfect place to experience the relaxed Santa Cruz feeling. The house is so cozy, well furnished and decorated. Everything you need is there: a well stocked kitchen, beachtowels, wetsuits, boards. A beautiful garden: palm trees, relax in the hammock, enjoy the bbq and the shower outside to cool down on a sunny day. Furthermore, it's perfectly located. Away from crowdy, touristic Santa Cruz, but just a 10 minute drive if you want to go there. The beautiful beach (Twin Lakes) is just at the end of the street. You have a mexican restaurant (Michoacan) on the corner; yum. And just around the corner: some great restaurants (US Meal, Lago di Como), fresh bread and tamales (panaderia el Rosal bakery) and a Starbucks. And if you're really into coffee, like us, visit The Verve (on 41st Avenue) and Coffeetopia (Portola Drive). Also a perfect place to do some biking, running (to Capitola while enjoying the Pacific) and surfing. We just left this beautiful house and feel homesick already ;-) Looking forward to our fourth visit."
