  • The house was very well supplied. We found everything we needed and were quite comfortable.

"The cabin was located so close to Lassen National Park that we could get to the trail head easily. We enjoyed all the hikes we took. We came back to the cabin and easily cooked nice dinners, which we ate outside. We had a nice campfire, too! Lovely stay!"

  • Summer Break Vacation

"What a great time we had at this house! We came to celebrate summer break with our teenage son and 5 of his friends. The kids loved having the downstairs to themselves… watching movies and playing ping pong/pool/cards til all hours of the night, while we adults could have nice and quiet upstairs. Accommodations were perfect for us and could easily hold more. We were lucky that the lake was full this year. We rented a boat from Antler’s Marina (just 2 miles away) and were able to anchor it right at the house. The tubing was a blast. And the house is on a quiet cove so the kids also enjoyed just floating around on toys, having water fights, and exploring the large, quiet area. They had it all to themselves! I enjoyed reading my book on the comfortable deck overlooking the beautiful cove. There was also some nice bike riding we did right from the house. The only issue I had with the lake (and this would be the same no matter which property you rented) is that it is pretty rocky and steep at the “beach” areas. So getting in and out of the water was a little tricky for me (although the kids had no problem). So I just bought a rope at the store down the street, tied it to a tree and ran it down to the water. Then I could pull on it to more easily get in/out of the water. That worked great. Since it gets so steep right away, we could keep the boat just 5-10 feet from shore without it hitting the motor. That was convenient. Nancy was wonderful to work with. She met us right away and showed us everything in the house and cabins. She’s so friendly! We had a very small problem with one of the bathrooms one day and she was out there within a couple hours and had it fixed. The house was the best stocked that we’ve ever rented. The kids loved that they could easily walk to get pizza and ice-cream floats on their own. I loved having the convenience store so close. It was so easy to cook for everyone (the house has 2 nice, big propane grills) so we ate most meals there. We will definitely stay here again the next time we go to Shasta!"

  • Great family reunion!

"Over the 2015 Christmas holiday our extended families from Oregon and California met at the Quincy House. We rented the entire house for four couples, two of which had children 1.5 - 4 years old: 12 people in all. There were plenty of large bedrooms for all the couples and the chidren. The two kitchens (one each on the first and second floors) included a nice breakfast space and were well stocked with pots, pans, dinnerware and a modest amount of spices, salt, etc. The flats were spacious and included two nice bathrooms on each floor and one in the attic. The rental agent was attentive to us at check-in and called throughout to make sure we were comfortable. There was only one heater in the living room of each flat, and we were initially concerned about the bedrooms being sufficiently heated (the night time temperatures dropped to 17F). But the heating was not a problem and the bedrooms were warm (with plenty of extra blankets available!). Over all, we were very pleased with our stay and will consider it again. For improvement we suggest providing dish racks on drain boards to make washing/drying easier. Also, the oven temperature in Flat 2 (second story) seemed low - it might need adjustment."

  • Outstanding home and location

"Our family loved our stay at the log cabin. The home is beautiful and absolutely pristine. The setting is spectacular. A lot of care has obviously gone into welcoming guests there. The proximity to Lassen is perfect as that was the main focus of our stay. The hikes in Lassen were stunning, fly fishing for some family members was highly rated by them, Anselmos vineyard was a very fun evening for dinner and wine, and the home so conducive to cooking meals and just relaxing there. We highly recommend this home and are grateful for our stay there. Checchi/Pielock Family MA"
