  • Owners are best ever and we rented the entire five cottages GREAT RESORT

"The owners Brian and Melissa met us at the resort and we rented all five cottages for 17 people. Kids. Grandparents. All the Tucker Family from Denton Texas. Fully furnished and wood stoves and we fly fished with the owner and his son guide at If you want a place with history think about this our guest books and the history has JFK and Marilyn Monroe, John Wayne, James Dean, Jimmy Dorsey. I stayed in the JFK and Marilyn Bedroom in cottage 3. My mother and father stayed in the Sinatra Rat Pack cottages 4 and 5. We hiked, fished, we ran hills. The local market is called ammiratti market. And we saw historic Dunsmuir. We went to the snow ten minutes away at Mt. Shasta. All the cottages have directv. Wifi. The views are immense. Think about this. All the hiking. Fishing we caught a 22 inch trout. We are all catch and release. If you look at the website the owner site you can see what my kids just loved and that is the greatest outdoors adventure ever. We saw that John Wayne, Jimmy Dorsey, Ginger Rogers, Mamie VanDoren, Meryl Streep, Ashton Kutcher, Jimmy Stewart, Rober DeNiro, Sylvester Stallone, Robert Duvall all stayed here and signed the books. The owers are in the film business with the studios and that is why all the stars hide out. But the owner is a native of the area part time so he knows everyone and gave us tours. We picked up our keys at the local property managers office. Professional and credit cards accepted. We returned the keys to the property manager. This is a professionally run but family style business. The small town where the cottages are located is called Castella. Only 100 people. The river is right out front. We plan to come back in the summer. We love it here. Love the Tuckers and Stevens Family"

  • Magical Solace

"My husband and I stayed here for two weeks. The home is perfect in every way. The mornings were spent on the back deck watching the little insects darting in and out of the warm sun rays like faeries welcoming the new day. The antics of the woodland birds was also fun to watch, especially the arguments they had with the resident squirrel. The sound of the creek was soothing to hear throughout the day - and if you closed your eyes, your problems would be carried away with each ripple. The home is large and warm, the bed is more than comfortable and we easily drifted off to sleep each night. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare our meals - which we of course ate outside. The owner - Anne - only adds to the magic of the home. My husband and I have been vacationing in North State for over 20 years, and never have I met such a warm and caring owner. She made absolutely sure that our needs were met, and when our car couldn't start, she came over with her vehicle to give us a jump. There is much, much more to this story that is just not worth mentioning, since the bottom line is, Anne has a heart of gold. So, in closing, if you are searching for a place to stay where you will be welcomed by the owner, greeted by the magic of nature, and will never regret your decision - then Turning Creek is certainly ready to welcome you home."

  • Very clean and spacious house

"We were a group of 6 people visiting mt Shasta. This house was very comfortable, clean and spacious. You could see Mt Shasta right from the front porch. The house owner was very responsive to emails and responded to our queries within an hour. It is a perfect place for a family/friends get together if you are planning to visit Mt Shasta and spend a few a days in the vicinity."

  • Great family reunion!

"Over the 2015 Christmas holiday our extended families from Oregon and California met at the Quincy House. We rented the entire house for four couples, two of which had children 1.5 - 4 years old: 12 people in all. There were plenty of large bedrooms for all the couples and the chidren. The two kitchens (one each on the first and second floors) included a nice breakfast space and were well stocked with pots, pans, dinnerware and a modest amount of spices, salt, etc. The flats were spacious and included two nice bathrooms on each floor and one in the attic. The rental agent was attentive to us at check-in and called throughout to make sure we were comfortable. There was only one heater in the living room of each flat, and we were initially concerned about the bedrooms being sufficiently heated (the night time temperatures dropped to 17F). But the heating was not a problem and the bedrooms were warm (with plenty of extra blankets available!). Over all, we were very pleased with our stay and will consider it again. For improvement we suggest providing dish racks on drain boards to make washing/drying easier. Also, the oven temperature in Flat 2 (second story) seemed low - it might need adjustment."
