  • Relaxing Get-Away

"My husband and I enjoyed our stay at your cottage. It's very cute and comfortable. It was nice to have such a well equipped home, having everything we needed. We were a little bummed that there wasn't a fireplace or wood burning stove. Surprising for a mountain home, but I guess I missed that in the details. We really enjoyed sitting on the deck (in between the rain) and listening to Bailey Creek. The smell of the rain in the woods is amazing!! Thank you for the fresh baked bread! Really nice touch!"

  • Quietly prepare for the New Year, 2017

"Battle Creek Retreat was the perfect spot for my end of year quiet time away from the world. I loved the fires in the fire place and the snow that covered much of the grounds. I really prayed for snow and it snowed on New Year's day. It was so beautiful and refreshing. Driving was a little iffy without chains so remember to plan ahead if any chance of snow. The house is so well equipped that there was nothing extra I needed. I took my little dog and she loved romping in the snow too. My favorite room is the master bedroom with a perfectly lovely view of the back and side of the property with clear access to the sounds of the creek babbling. The bed was very comfortable and cozy as well. Kathy and John are the best! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with me."

  • Very comfortable

"Our family of 6 had a great time at Mario & Linda's home away from home. The house contained everything you could need, we really enjoyed the large front deck and of course the boat launch area right across the street. We had our young grand-daughter there too and she loved the playground about a mile away. We were all very comfortable and would definitely book the place again, probably not at the end of June as there was a large bug hatch and the fishing was lousy, they were full. Lassen National park was awesome and worth the trip too. Thanks Mario for making things easy with no hassles."

  • An Enjoyable Weekend with my Kids

"I stayed here with my 3 kids, 18, 16 and 13. We really enjoyed the fresh air scented with pine, which we couldn't get enough of, the views, the quiet and all the rainy day activities that came with home, Foosball, Ping Pong, Darts and some board games. We also enjoyed a couple of movies on the nice TV and sound system. We did make a trip to Lassen to climb the summit, 45 minutes away, but had to settle for the sulphur springs because the summit was closed due to weather. We enjoyed the good food in Chester and Westwood as well. I also would like to mention the property management company who I worked with in obtaining the property last minute. Mary was very accommodating and resourceful in finding a place for us to stay in Lake Almanor but made herself available in case we needed anything over the weekend. All in all I will definitely return to the property again with my family to enjoy Lake Almanor."
