  • Beautiful Home in a Great Location

"My family and I stayed here for four nights and had a great time. The property is beautiful and located just 20 minutes from Lassen National Park, we were able to get up and out quickly in the morning and spend the day paddle boarding at Manzanita Lake. To be able to come back at the end of the day, grill on the back patio and make smores in the fire pit made each evening memorable. And on the day we decided to stay in and not go anywhere we used the creek flowing in the backyard to cool off in the Summer heat. I highly recommend this location if you have a family with children, we can't wait to come back."

  • Our stay was like a dream!

"What a wonderful house! First off, it feels huge, there's a lot of square footage. There was plenty of room for the 18 of us. The kitchen was large and had a prep area which came in handy, and as suggested by Doreen who greeted us, we used the shelving in the kitchen hallway for our dry foods and snacks. There are so many wonderful aspects about the house, our favorite was "the meadow" area (we called it) where we set up a volleyball net (which they provided) and played bat mitten (which they also provided) and beach volleyball (we brought the beach ball & they had a volleyball). There are a couple benches out there for those who just wanted to watch. THE FIREPIT! The fire pit was clutch. There was wood for burning and there were metal skewers we used for cooking sausages and hotdogs (& SMORES!). There are little stumps around the fire pit to sit on too! We spent our time here singing freely around the fire under the stars while some of us played banjos and guitars. We loved the creek, so cold & clear! Some of us waded through it, it's not very wide, and about 4 feet deep in the deepest parts. There are also picnic tables and benches along the path so you can stop and just sit for a while and listen. :) Some other comments and likes: Plenty of towels! tons of condiments and spices fireplace was a nice touch and did get used even though our visit was during the summer (August) great open living area for large group hang outs the house is even better looking than the pictures Cons: There really aren't any, I'm searching here for one... the only thing I can think of was that my husband and I had a hard time figuring out how to work the kitchen appliances (a little more high-tech than the average dishwasher, oven, and microwave) Tips: Make sure you bring food, you won't want to do food runs very often, the town is not close by. There is plenty of room in the kitchen, indoor and outdoor fridge for food and beverage. Bring bug spray! Lots of land = lots of bugs! It can be hard to find and service is patchy, so talk to the owner a few days before your trip and they'll give you the lowdown on how to get there beforehand. It was hot during the day and chilly at night so bring warm clothes for night. Thank you for our wonderful stay!"

  • AWESOME cabin in a beautiful little town

"Adorable cabin right on fishing river. Great walks right from the cabin. The owners are the friendliest couple, with good advice, interesting stories about the area and are always available for any assistance. The place is decorated in a fly fishing theme, which compliments the beautiful outdoor surroundings. It was extremely clean with nice sheets, a closet full of plush towels, a fully stocked kitchen and stacks of blankets (which were kindly offered to us for our stargazing nights). We mentioned how cold we were during the night. The next morning we found a set of gloves on our car window. There are comfortable chairs on both the front and back porches. The backyard has a big gas grill with all the needed utensils plus a wood-laden fire pit. Hummingbirds flew right up to me while I sat outside enjoying the sunny morning and vivid blue skies. Easily accessible to Lassen Volcanic National Park. Great little family restaurant, JJ's, in town. Good solid food, friendly locals from this town of 52 people(!) that enjoy talking to you. PCT hikers wander by, picking up resupply boxes at the local post office. We loved everything about this place and cannot recommend it enough. Go! Stay! You will love it and be happy that you did. Also close to Burney Falls, one of the prettiest waterfalls I've ever seen and the Subway lava tube which you hike through. Safeway grocery store only about 30 minutes away and also close to the Falls. We spent the time watching the Pleiades Meteorite shower from the backyard, within the park and in a field close by. If you love stargazing this is the place to go...its one of the darkest areas in the country, You can see the Milky Way every night. We sincerely hope to go back one day."

  • Perfect place for a get away.

"This cabin is perfect and has everything you could want or need. We stayed here with our 5 kids and they had so much fun. The creek behind the property kept the kids entertained. The fire pit was perfect for campfire stories and snores. It was like having your own personal resort. We would stay here again."
