  • Better than expected

"The view was fantastic and the house had plenty of room for our family and dogs. We were able to rent a fishing boat at the marina and caught some bass in Shasta lake. We went on a tour of the Shasta caverns, which is a short ride away. Great stay, highly recommended."

  • Perfect Labor Day weekday!

"Jonathan's Trout Lodge was the perfect hideaway for my wife and me while we visited family in the area. The bed was comfortable and the furnishings completed the "fishing lodge" motif. Shannon met us the first day but Dweeba, the wiener dog, greeted me nearly every morning for the treats I had for him."

  • Beautiful View

"This unit is located in a secluded area with a fantastic view of Mt. Shasta from the living room, master bedroom and the deck. We stayed in August and the weather was very hot during the day but cooled off nicely at night. The unit has 2 portable a/c units that struggle to keep up in the afternoons. I cleaned the filters (one unit was especially dirty) to improve their efficiency but they still struggled. More and better solar window shading will help reduce the heat build up. The kitchen was adequate but did blow a fuse using the microwave and toaster at the same time. Finding the breaker box was a challenge and instructions in this event would have been helpful. There were rechargeable flashlights throughout the house but none worked (time to replace). The biggest drawback for us were the daily mouse droppings in the kitchen and my wife HATES mice. Overall we had a nice visit to the area."

  • Beautiful house nested in the rocky area overlooking Lake Shastina and view of Mt. Shasta.

"The house was easy to find, great location, overwhelming view of Lake Shastina and Mount Shasta. The house was comfortable and suited our needs. Great experience overall- few things need updating- towels, some bedding and tea kettle for tea lovers. Highly recommend this property for anyone who is looking for a serenity, nature beauty and relaxation. Thank you!"
