  • Perfect match for our needs

"The Kingdom Castle was a perfect match for our family needs. The pool and pool table provided ample entertainment for the grand kids in the evenings when we were back from our daily explorations. The property was conveniently located for easy access for our family excursions (swimming, hiking, biking, kayaking, etc.). The kitchen was well equipped, allowing easy creation of family feasts. This was very important to us, because the restaurant choices in the area were not stellar, and we like good food. The sleeping arrangements were great, allowing young adults to stay up late playing games, while the older and younger contingents retired to bedrooms adequately insulated from the noise of the living room. Because we hit a week of daily temperatures between 100 and 117, the very adequate air conditioning was a pleasant escape from the heat. We would definitely return to this property were we to revisit this area."

  • Perfect Labor Day weekday!

"Jonathan's Trout Lodge was the perfect hideaway for my wife and me while we visited family in the area. The bed was comfortable and the furnishings completed the "fishing lodge" motif. Shannon met us the first day but Dweeba, the wiener dog, greeted me nearly every morning for the treats I had for him."

  • Great place to stay

"This is a great place to stay in Redding. Very comfortable, clean, nicely furnished and decorated, not to mention great views from the deck. It also has close access to the Sacramento River trail. Owners are very accommodating and helpful. Will definitely stay here again."

  • A Special Little Gem west of Redding:

"Just as the photos convey this property truly is an intimate retreat in the countryside, and was exactly what my partner and I were looking for when planning a get-away to celebrate the new year. Its cozy, well-appointed craftsman-style interior was so comfy it was NOT difficult to procrastinate from our daily fly fishing excursions. (Let's have another cup of coffee next to the fire! Those trophy rainbows need their beauty sleep, afterall.) Because we were fishing the lower Sacramento River the Barnhouse was the perfect location; a scenic but short 12 mile drive to Redding, yet, nestled along the appropriately named Clear Creek. I beleive the Barnhouse is a perfect stay for creative types seeking solitude and inspiration, romantic couples, older couples, those in denial of or forever greiving the 2016 election cycle, well-behaved dogs (but ONLY if they have well-behaved masters), and all outdoor-enthusiasts unafraid of embracing their inner-Martha Stewart. Whether walking along the meandering road and creek, gazing out large picture windows at wildlife and pastures, lounging next to the handcrafted stone fireplace (with or without a Kindle or tablet), or simply enjoying the warmth of a glass of wine or the sun itself from the oversized decks, the Barnhouse at Stonewall Ranch is a special little gem. And its colorful and extremely thoughtful owners make the experience all the more worthwhile. Thank you, Denise. We'll be back in April. Liz and Joyce"
