  • Summer Break Vacation

"What a great time we had at this house! We came to celebrate summer break with our teenage son and 5 of his friends. The kids loved having the downstairs to themselves… watching movies and playing ping pong/pool/cards til all hours of the night, while we adults could have nice and quiet upstairs. Accommodations were perfect for us and could easily hold more. We were lucky that the lake was full this year. We rented a boat from Antler’s Marina (just 2 miles away) and were able to anchor it right at the house. The tubing was a blast. And the house is on a quiet cove so the kids also enjoyed just floating around on toys, having water fights, and exploring the large, quiet area. They had it all to themselves! I enjoyed reading my book on the comfortable deck overlooking the beautiful cove. There was also some nice bike riding we did right from the house. The only issue I had with the lake (and this would be the same no matter which property you rented) is that it is pretty rocky and steep at the “beach” areas. So getting in and out of the water was a little tricky for me (although the kids had no problem). So I just bought a rope at the store down the street, tied it to a tree and ran it down to the water. Then I could pull on it to more easily get in/out of the water. That worked great. Since it gets so steep right away, we could keep the boat just 5-10 feet from shore without it hitting the motor. That was convenient. Nancy was wonderful to work with. She met us right away and showed us everything in the house and cabins. She’s so friendly! We had a very small problem with one of the bathrooms one day and she was out there within a couple hours and had it fixed. The house was the best stocked that we’ve ever rented. The kids loved that they could easily walk to get pizza and ice-cream floats on their own. I loved having the convenience store so close. It was so easy to cook for everyone (the house has 2 nice, big propane grills) so we ate most meals there. We will definitely stay here again the next time we go to Shasta!"

  • Wedding weekend

"We had our wedding here and it was PERFECT! The grounds are so beautiful we had lots of compliments on the location. Dave was great throughout the whole planning process and during our stay. He was willing to try to accomodate all of my (sometimes extraordinary) requests, and was very easy to communicate with. The caterer was over the moon with their fantastic commercial kitchen and large dining room. We had a great time and hope to come back in the near future!!"

  • Just what the doctor ordered!

"Last year we went to Angels Camp. We had hired someone to watch our home and pets here in West Sonoma County. The night before we came home, we got a call from our house/pet-sitter's sister. He took the keys to one of our cars and went for a joy ride with our Chihuahuas Pepe & Milo and was booked on a DUI! I looked up the animal control website and saw two scared little dogs incarcerated. The following day when we got home, we had to retrieve them and the car from impound. = Nightmare! After last year's fiasco, I found a dog friendly*, cute, comfortable, and newer house on VRBO. Since we had never traveled to Trinity, I decided to book a week. I wanted to include our dogs since they were so severely traumatized last year. At first I was a little weird about sketchy cell phone service, but then I was glad for it because of all the client calls I get (I'm a hairstylist), and calls from well meaning friends that call me with their drama whether I am in the USA, Mexico, or Europe. I have really high blood pressure and the slow pace in Trinity Center and even Weaverville (grocery shopping, dinner out, and antique hunting*) was akin to how I feel when I am south of the border. We rented a patio boat on the lake and fished and swam one day. We went sightseeing. This was our granddaughter's first vacation! We all had a very nice and restful time"

  • Nice house

"While I was some what concerned when the property was in a different location than the one pinned in the ad on VRBO. It turned out not to be a problem and freeway had no impact on our stay. Everything was as advertised and house was acceptable clean, the note about dust in the ad was refreshing and welcomed. The house was very well equipped and met all of our expectations. The manager was easy to deal with and responded quickly. Very nice time and property. Thank you so much for opening up your home to visitors. Everything went so smoothly."
