  • Lovely, spacious home with views!

"My family stayed here for the weekend and had a marvelous time! I wanted a quick getaway from the SF Bay area for family bonding time with our two young adult children (20-23), brother in law, and dog. It was a really good decision and the Crow's Nest delivered the space that we needed. We are ATT cell subscribers so our phones didn't work (Verizon works here) -- I didn't worry too much because they had a landline that was available and also internet if we really had to connect with the outside world. We didn't miss the phones but make sure that you have the addresses and directions where you want to go because reception on the road is spotty. We brought our dog, Max, who was just as happy as we were. There's a lot of room to spread out, tv in the evening (bring your own DVDs), back yard to play Frisbee, watch the deer or occasional fox that strolled by, and view of the water! Town was just 6 minutes away with a few restaurants and sights from the movie, The Birds. This is a good jumping off point to explore Point Reyes, Bodega Bay, Jenner, Guerneville, Sea Ranch and back."

  • Beautiful place

"Pelican Perch is a beautiful home in a beautiful setting. It was roomy and clean and nicely furnished. We loved it. We did, however, experience a few problems. 1. Both exterior back door handles came off, causing us to feel a bit insecure. 2. There was standing water in both downstairs showers. 3. The heater didn't work in two downstairs bedrooms and it seemed like all of the heat went into one bedroom making it unbearably warm. 4. The directions to enter he home were unclear. There is no lockbox and we looked all over for one in the dark. We finally figured out there was a keypad on the front door. It isn't lit until being used, so we had a hard time finding it and figuring it out. Overall, and other than these minor problems, the place was great. I hate to complain but I thought the owner were would want to be made aware of these problems."

  • BayView is the best!

"BayView fit our needs perfectly. After 3 days in San Fran, we couldn't wait to get to wine country. We needed a "base camp" for 2 couples that was easy to get to, big enough to not be in each other's way, and close enough to the Pacific to satisfy our east coast need for some ocean time. We couldn't have found a better place. Janice was great, from our first eMails, right through to wishing us safe travels home. BayView was exceptionally clean, well stocked with everything we needed, and a calming layout that welcomed us "home" after long days of wine touring. We were able to cook in, and eat comfortably along with 2 guests that were staying nearby. The hot tub under a starry night was the perfect way to unwind after all our vineyard traveling. We can't recommend BayView enough ! Thanks Janice !"

  • Beach Getaway

"Sojourn is a classic old beach cabin. Great views, great deck, great fireplace (pre-set so just needed to light a match for the first night's fire) and stocked with firewood, great eating space, comfortable living room. 2 full baths made it easy for 2 families to stay comfortably here. New comfortable beds with great bedding. The house is loaded with movies, sand toys, telescope for ocean/star gazing. The kids loved the 5 minute walk to the beach along Salmon creek, with all the birds to watch. Lots of heaters made every room cozy on foggy nights. There was some mustiness when we entered downstairs, but that is a function of the house being old and it went away once the heaters were turned on. And the place is priced to reflect that this home is not new construction and in an isolated place (though incredibly close to restaurants, coffee shops and other amenities). Next door is an artist studio. Around the corner is a path through headlands grasses (ending at a fantastic Mexican restaurant). We had a great time at a classic old time beach cabin in a classic old beach community."
