  • Beautiful Home and View - Great Girls weekend

"We had 8 women in our 40s meet up at Chateau Relax-O for a girls weekend. The house has amazing views and the rooms are all nice. The best part is the front living room overlooking the ocean. There is a lot of seating so we could all hang out together. A few steps above that is the TV room, also with big comfy sofas. The only thing I would caution is if you plan to sleep on one of the "sleeping mats." I hate sharing a bed so I slept on one the first night but is was really uncomfortable (hard and thin so like sleeping on the floor). As a result, I did share a bed the following night because I wanted to remain in the master bedroom (nicest room). The bed was very comfortable. We hired a private chef to cook for us on Sat. night and that went well. The kitchen had everything we needed but I suggest getting dinner size plates that aren't plastic - it kind of cheapened the private chef experience. Also, note that the BBQ is somewhat small for 8 people (I think 2 burners) so we had to cook our Fri dinner in batches. Overall, we had a great stay and wonderful, relaxing time catching up with one another. That was our main goal and this is a wonderful house for staying in. We visited Sebastapol to check out the local area and soon realized we would have been better off if we hadn't left the house for the day."

  • Beautiful place

"Pelican Perch is a beautiful home in a beautiful setting. It was roomy and clean and nicely furnished. We loved it. We did, however, experience a few problems. 1. Both exterior back door handles came off, causing us to feel a bit insecure. 2. There was standing water in both downstairs showers. 3. The heater didn't work in two downstairs bedrooms and it seemed like all of the heat went into one bedroom making it unbearably warm. 4. The directions to enter he home were unclear. There is no lockbox and we looked all over for one in the dark. We finally figured out there was a keypad on the front door. It isn't lit until being used, so we had a hard time finding it and figuring it out. Overall, and other than these minor problems, the place was great. I hate to complain but I thought the owner were would want to be made aware of these problems."

  • We loved the house and locationl.

"The house is probably one of the best stocked houses we have ever rented. However, some of the glasses need to be replaced due to wear. We did find that some of the dishes were put away dirty, so the housecleaners aren't paying attention. Probably putting them away from the dishwasher without checking to see if they have been washed. I would recommend that the light switches be labeled. Just a helpful suggestion. One other thing we would have liked, would be a bar of soap for each bath. I appreciate the hand soap in liquid form, but it is not the best for showering. Whoever decorated the house did an outstanding job. it is truly beautiful. I love the furniture, all so unique and interesting. Thank you for sharing this lovely home which all three of us will recommend to our friends. We had a wonderful time, and were fortunate to have 3 beautiful clear days and could see clear to China."

  • Girls Getaway!

"Three of my girlfriends and I visited Hattie's cottage for a fun weekend trip! The cottage has picture windows to capture the beautiful view both in the living room and kitchen/dining room! The kitchen was nice and was newer and the house had charming touches throughout. The room with the double bunk was a little disappointing; the room is very small (maybe an old laundry or utility room?) and the bottom bed is actually on the floor and is very small. Thankfully, the couch in the living room was a pull out bed! This room would be great for small children, but really not ideal for adults. The spa was amazing and also captured the beautiful ocean view; we could watch the sun set from the spa! The only suggestion I would have for the owners would be to update the locks on the doors; the doors all lock fine, however, when it is locked it allows you to open the door from the inside still...which we didn't realize and we ended up locking ourselves out of the house very late one night! Other than that, the cottage was very nice and I would for sure stay there again! I did get the opportunity to meet Randy, one of the owners and he was so nice and friendly! :)"
