  • Perfect beach/golf/wine getaway

"This home is attractive, extremely well equipped, clean, and nicely located near beach and golf course with a stunning view. The owner/manager is very accommodating. She even set up a Christmas tree and other decorations of the season for our family holiday. There was absolutely nothing lacking. There is plenty to do in the area if you have a car and don't mind driving a half hour or so. The beach is just a short walk down the hill. Be sure to read the rules relating to number of guests. The homeowners' association is quite strict, and renters must abide by the number of people listed on the agreement. This applies to daytime visitors as well as overnight stays. We would happily stay here again if visiting in the area."

  • Best of Salmon Creek!

"Hattie's Cottage, light filled and spacious, feels like a lovingly created and cared for home rather than a tourist rental. Robin is obviously an artist--the decor is so tasteful and comfortable. The bed upstairs is just firm enough--super comfortable. The kitchen is equipped with new cabinets and new appliances plus every little thing you might need for cooking at home, and everything works! The lovely hosts, Robin and Randy (and Hattie the dog) live right across the street and are generous, available and responsive when needed while being completely respectful of visitors' privacy. The amazing two mile white sand beach seen from the gorgeous picture windows both in the living and dining rooms is five minutes' easy walk from the house. It's different every day and inexplicably empty most of the time, even in the summer ... except for the many kinds of birds staging hysterical performance shows on the seashore and around the creek. Lots to do in the area within short driving distance in any direction, if you're in an active mood. Robin put together a fantastic info book with up-to-date recommendations of where to eat and what to do to last you for weeks on end. This time around, I spent three weeks here on a solo winter retreat just hanging out, walking the beach, and staring into space. By the end I basically wanted to move in and never leave. Not even to go out to my very favorite restaurant in a 50 mile radius, the Terrapin Creek Café. We have stayed in five other places in Salmon Creek and Hattie's takes the Grand Prix!"

  • Incredible property

"We loved this house. It is among the nicest homes I've rented. The location and view is beautiful. The house, especially the kitchen, is stocked with everything you need. Perfect for larger groups since there are lots of bedrooms and a media room where you can lay out provided air mattresses. The owner is also very nice. She called me the afternoon we checked in to see if we needed anything. Thank you."

  • Great location, great views.

"I have stayed at Bahia Retreat over the New Year's weekend/week for the last few years and we will continue to come back for a number of important reasons. The views are spectacular and varied- hills, homes, bay, and ocean. The area of landscape just outside the windows is busy with all kinds of wildlife. A very scenic trail to the beach is right nearby and the walking possibilities are endless. The house itself is arranged in a way that is very comfortable, provides areas for gathering, yet also allows the opportunity to get away too. The kitchen has always worked very well for our group and accomodates many people in the coooking process without treading on one another. Some of the fixtures and appliances are showing some age and the ravages of salt air, but it's a smal annoyance that seldom detracts from all the benefits. The owner has always been extremely flexible to accommodate our needs and responsive about any issues we've had with the house. This is porbably not the ideal house to visit with small children due to stairs, but for adults and older children, this is hard to beat. Enjoy"
