  • Perfect house for extended family

"We had 7 adults and 4 young kids and this house was absolutely perfect for our weekend trip. There was plenty of room for everyone and the owners have really thought of everything. The living space is on the top floor although there's another living room on the lower floor if you need some quiet time. The top floor deck is very large with plenty of seating. We ate out there every night and didn't have any trouble fitting everyone at one table (or with any bugs, which is also a plus). Our youngest kid is 2 so we were worried about stairs but there's a gate at the outside stairs on the top deck and there's a door to close off the inside stairs. River access was great and there were plenty of boats and river toys to keep the family entertained. We were also easily able to fit 4 cars in the driveway. We loved the house and hope to be back here next year!"

  • wonderful retreat

"This was the second time here for our family of 3. It is in a beautiful location in Redwoods, ferns, with a seasonal creek running right by. The kitchen is very well appointed and had tea, local coffee, and oil and vinegar etc. We were welcomed by fresh flowers and pumpkin bread. The wifi was rapid. It is only 10 minutes to the ocean and Goat Rock State Park. We have also gone hiking at Armstrong Redwood State Park near by. Duncan Mills near by has a good coffee shop, a small general store with some food, and 2 restaurants. The owner is not near by but she responded quickly by internet to all questions."

  • Bellissimo!

"The Grape Escape is absolutely lovely. The house is nestled among grapevines and as quiet as can be. The owners live in the large palazzo that can be seen from the front of the house and as readily and happily available to assist with guests needs and to make wonderful suggestions. The house is impeccably clean and has everything a guest could need from kitchen ware to towels and comfy beds. One could easily rent the house and move in without brining anything other than clothes! The master bedroom is very large and has a huge ensuite bathroom and walk-in closet. All 3 bathrooms are great and very comfortable for a couple to share. Bedrooms and bathrooms have lots of very practical and convenient storage. The decor is quite nice. The large outdoor deck is fabulous!! The views are great and there is enough shade - even shades to roll down if the sun is glaring when setting. We also enjoyed the hot tub. All in all, this is a fantastic place to stay and feel at home - so much so that you will not want to leave! The kitchen is wonderful to cook in - we had a group of 6 staying at the house and there was plenty of room for all of us to feel we could have private space as well as lots of different gathering areas where we could all hang out together. Perfect!!"

  • Lovely stay, lovely place

"Light filled, clean, pretty home. Very private. Wonderful location -- right on the river, mere minutes' walk from bakery, general store, etc. Well equipped kitchen for cooking. Note that the two bedrooms adjoin each other, separated by glass doors with curtains. Jacqueline was a kind and conscientious host. Would eagerly stay again."
