  • Delightful Country Cottage

"The warm glow of the Little Bird Cottage was a welcome sight upon our arrival in Sebastopol that evening. Thoughtful personal touches made it all the more special, with fresh cut flowers, a bottle of wine and chocolaty treats awaiting us. Attention to detail exceeded expectations, as the decor and bedding were beautiful, and the towels extra soft and fluffy! We had everything needed to make breakfast in the cozy, efficient kitchen and then off to the day's activities. The cottage was an ideal base, close to our daughter at SSU and the concert we attended on campus at the Green Music Center. We were 5 minutes from coffee at the Village Bakery in The Barlow in downtown Sebastopol, a 20 minute drive to tasty tapas at Bravas in Healdsburg, a leisurely jaunt to a meditation workshop in Penngrove and an easy commute to a fundraiser then dinner at the Wild Goat Bistro in Petaluma. Kathy and Ken Eide were very accommodating and couldn't have been nicer, making the reservation process a breeze. Staying at the Little Bird Cottage was a delightful home away from home and one that we will definitely recommend to family and friends."

  • Excellent accommodations

"Easy access to highway #12 and #101 and centrally located to wineries, restaurants and other Sonoma County activities. The home was in great shape with all the amenities of home. Loved the pantry as it had many needed items for cooking, etc. The grounds were beautiful and well kept. Wish it would have been summer, because the swimming pool was perfect. The BBQ worked great. We had a wonderful time with our family of 6 adults and one infant. The house and property was spacious enough to accommodate all of us very nicely. We will recommend the Matanzas Maison to our friends when they plan to visit Santa Rosa/Sonoma County area."

  • What a wondeful hidden gem!

"My husband and I stayed here for three days. The cottage and its property were wonderful, and the location was perfect -- close to wineries and restaurants, but away from the commercial hubbub. There is a creek in the back of the property that was relaxing to sit by at the end of the day -- we watched squirrels chasing each other from tree to tree while sipping on some wine from one of the many wineries close by -- very serene. Robin was a great host, and gave us some ideas of places to visit. She provided fresh farm eggs from her chickens, and invited us to pick some fresh basil and produce from her garden for breakfast. The cottage has a helpful menu book of local restaurants that she put together, which includes notations of her favorites -- we found this very helpful! The cottage was very comfortable -- perfect size for the two of us, and equipped with everything we needed. I would absolutely stay here again."

  • Nice apartment in the wine country

"We had a great Thanksgiving weekend stay in this comfortable 2 bedroom apartment. It is well furnished and in a quiet area, but close to everything. It is attached to the main house, not a separate cottage. The kitchen was well equipped and had most spices and staples you might use for cooking. But there are plenty of restaurants a short drive away too. We made Thanksgiving dinner and breakfasts, but ate out for lunch. There is a unique Himalayan Tandoori(Nepalese) restaurant in Sebastopol. My spouse had the goat curry, but I chose the vegetable curry. It was delicious. Give it a try if you are adventuresome. We visited several wineries and Bodega Bay. Even joined a wine club at Sunce, a nearby winery with a Croatian winemaker and very nice wines. Although we did not meet the owners, they were attentive to detail and provided us a nice basket of local goodies. Thanks Lynn and Roger!"
