  • Beautiful Garden Patio and Spacious Unit

"The “Owl Ridge, Walk-Out Garden” is exactly what the pictures show. It is a very peaceful and a quiet setting on a small road. The unit is very close to Sebastopol. The unit is beautifully decorated with a clean and open floor plan; it felt much more spacious than the pictures reflect. The price was perfect for my longer stay; it was a clean, convenient and peaceful rental. We will definitely be back again, hoping to make it an annual visit. My husband and I stayed in “Owl Ridge, Walk out Garden” for three months and felt wonderfully comfortable and at home immediately. Laurie was a perfect host; she was attentive and responsive to any of our questions, yet allowed us our privacy. We were in Sebastopol for child care of our new 6 month old granddaughter. So we were home with her much of the time, the bottom unit is large and open with clean beautiful hard wood floors. She had so much room to move around in, we felt comfortable when she began crawling around. She especially enjoyed sitting in her walker in the outdoor patio area. The amenities felt like home too, big screen TV, laundry, kitchen, the dining table was big enough for me to do some quilting also. There is so much to do in the area; wineries, beaches, river (swimming and rafting), cute little towns nearby with good restaurants and best of all, friendly people everywhere."

  • Awesome place.

"Country redwood masterpiece is the correct way to describe it. My husband and I were lucky enough to be able to spend 9 days at the redwood house as we celebrated our 20th anniversary. When we planned this trip, we were looking for something that would be a good home base for exploring the Sonoma County wine regions. This place was so much more. Clean, comfortable, and well appointed with the right amount of technology. We had no issues. Prior to our trip the owner was easy to reach and quick to respond to our questions. This was our first experience renting a place in this way and it could not have gone better. We will be back to this area and hope to be this lucky again and get a repeat stay. If you want a place to really relax, this is it. You won't be disappointed! There are 2 other houses close by, but we did not see another person the whole time we were there. Just a few deer, some turkeys and other small critters. Oh and be sure to watch the DVD on the history of the mill, the family, and how the house came to be."

  • "Quiet, lovely, welcoming country setting yet close to so many attractions"

"My family and friends spent a weekend this past September celebrating birthdays at her cottage, which is part her little bit of heaven minutes from Sebastopol "town". The setting is ideal. Her cottage was welcoming, clean, bright indoors and a spacious, restful yard, and lounging chairs, and lots of flowers outside. Yes, all of those physical plant characteristics are important but her attention to details impressed all of us. Mary Heller was the consummate hostess to us. For example, the linens/beds were oh, so, comfortable; the kitchen was equipped with all the things we had at home, e.g., sharp knives, coffee, cleaning supplies, etc.; apples, squash, tomatoes from her garden, eggs from her chickens, and a bottle of wine from the area were gifts as we entered. She greeted us warmly, too, introducing us to her husband, and to her horses and dogs, as well. Ever so gracious, available, and attentive yet not overly so. Very comfortable, restful time and a great get away from the bustle of home. We're so grateful that we found the Heller's and stayed with them. And, if travellers are looking for a place like this, without hesitation, we would recommend staying with them. Hope Mary and Bruce have us back! Dr. Reg Louie"

  • Sonoma getaway

"Very nice property with a homey feel. Large kitchen with dining area and and a welcoming living room. House was clean and well-equipped with essentials needed for a stay. Lots of seating space outside, although it was too cold for us to use them on our visit. The friendly goats and the chickens were a nice touch. Location is great, on a main road but set back so it is quiet, and the place gives you a sense of being away from it all but it is a great base for a Sonoma wine tasting tour. But there's a coffee an pastry shop just across the street and grocery stores and other facilities 5 min away. I'd easily return."
