  • Great Property & Location

"We just returned home to New Jersey after spending a week at Rose Cottage in Sonoma. The property was in a great location to Sonoma Plaza and many local wineries. The house was very clean and the perfect size for 2 couples to spread out and relax. The front porch was a wonderful location to have tea in the mornings while everyone got ready to head out for whatever adventure was on the menu for that day. Relaxing on the back deck was perfect for evenings, enjoying dinner and sampling our wine purchases from our winery visits. The kitchen was well stocked, we did prepare breakfast and dinner on 2 of our days. We enjoyed many awesome meals @ the restaurants right in the Sonoma Plaza which was only about a 10 minute drive from our rental. Some of our favorites were, The girl & the fig, Harvest Moon Cafe, Cafe LaHaye and Della Santina's (we actually ate here twice). Our favorite wineries on this trip were Gundlach Bundschu, Buena Vista Winery and our all time favorite each time we visit Sonoma, St Francis (be sure to ask for Rony), he's the best there. We traveled 1 day into San Francisco, which was only about a 45 minute ride from the rental, however traffic coming back @ the end of our day was heavy and took almost double the time. We also visited Armstrong Redwoods and drove back to Sonoma along the Pacific Coast stopping at Goat Beach (beautiful views). On our last day we had a late flight so we spent a good part of it enjoying Muir Woods and a drive through Sausalito on the way to the airport. The property owner Robert was very accommodating and we would love to return!"

  • Great location. Everything you would need in a rental home.

"We stayed at Clare's home for Vineman weekend. We also had a family reunion in conjunction with the event. The location is perfect for all activities. We had people of all ages staying with us. We took full advantage of all that the home has to offer, as well as the surrounding area. First, the location of the home is great. You are walking distance to town over the bridge. There is easy access to the bridge, so you never have to deal with cars. My kids walked over the bridge countless times to enjoy the river. Second, the park across the street was great. My 4 year old loved playing over there. The older kids took the basketball, from the house, over there as well and played. They actual got a pick up game started with some of the local kids. Third, the river is easily accessable and we used the provided kayak and blow up boats on the river several times. My kids were able to find a couple of rope swings on the river to enjoy. Hours of fun. Fourth, since I was in town for Ironman, the access to Johnson's beach was amazing. I walked over in the morning to transition within 5 minutes. My family didn't have to deal with parking or traffic. We found a quick escape route so, they didn't have to deal with River Rd. traffic to Windsor. When I do the race again in the future. I will definitely use this house. And finally, Clare is great. The whole process leading up to our stay she was readily available to provide information and answer any concerns. She called us during our stay and even asked how I did in the race. We greatly appreciated her home and were honored to be able to stay in it. The sleeping accomodations are great. There are 2 bedrooms on the main floor and the master bedroom is huge. There is a room within a room in the master bedroom. We never felt crowded in the home. And it was very quite at night. I would highly recommend this home to anyone and will look forward to staying in it again in the future."

  • Simply Perfect!

"We just spent a week at this home and could not have been happier. It was perfect for our 3 couples. Everyone had their own bedroom and their own bath. The Kitchen, Dining Area and Family Room are all combined into one giant gathering room where, of course, everyone congregates. To make it even better, the 8' tall doors all open up to just the most delightful of settings - you are 30' from the running brook, a wrap-around porch, pool and lush back yard. For us, it could not have been more conducive to relaxing, talking and simply enjoying being together in this lovely setting. It is a short drive to Sonoma or Santa Rosa, so you are centrally located. The owners are kind and gracious. I did see the negative post and I can certainly say that none of those issues existed for us. The backyard was manicured, lust and green. The front has a small garden with a few grapevines on the side. The home was clean and fully stocked. In sum, it felt like home… only much, much nicer! Thank you Tim and Naomi for perhaps the best week ever for me! Buddy Sexton"
