  • Fire and Snow

"My fiancee and I stayed for 2 nights and spent the second night in the hot tub for a couple hours in the snow. They seemed to have everything we would need to enjoy our time there. We spent the first night sleeping downstairs next to the wood stove that heats the entire house. There is a heater for all floors but we wanted to "rough" it. Spotted a bobcat and some deer right outside the house as well. If it is snowy you better have a 4x4 to get to the place though!"

  • Great getaway!

"We enjoyed our stay at the Wilderness Cabin on the Canyon and will definitely go back! The cabin was clean and cozy and had all the amenities that we needed. Our stay was to relax and one early evening while we were enjoying a fire and the scenery, a deer came right up to the window to graze! We did venture out one day for a hike on a nearby trail that Michael recommended which was beautiful! Michael was a gracious host and glad that we had the opportunity to meet and get to know him. Thank you for making our getaway great Michael!"

  • Another great stay at Writer's Nest!

"My wife and I had another opportunity to stay at the Writer's Nest, and once again enjoyed our visit. The Writer's Nest is the perfect location for an individual or couple to find seclusion, but yet only five and a half miles from Evergreen, and a short drive to Denver. The Writer's Nest is always clean, organized, and well stocked with cooking utensils, bath needs, and other amenities. There are books to read and cd's with a variety of music to fit your taste. A very comfortable, cozy setting, sometimes we would cook our meals in and enjoy our meal by the large picture window or on the balcony. We would recommend the Writer's Nest to anyone looking for a quiet, peaceful location to get away from it all!"

  • Very comfortable and well furnished

"We stayed there for the month of August 2016. It was clean, comfortable and very well furnished, equipped and updated. It was perfect for my husband and I and our visiting kids and grandkids who live nearby. The location on the rocks above the town of Evergreen made it convenient to shopping and sightseeing. Going "down the hill" into Denver and suburbs was an easy drive. We enjoyed sitting on one of the three decks on Sunday afternoons listening to the music coming from a nearby restaurant's outdoor patio. Evergreen Lake and park are an easy walk from the cottage. There are also many places to hike the beautiful trail systems nearby. If the windows are open there is some traffic noise during the day but we never had an issue with noise at night. We would stay there again in a minute!"
