  • Nice cabin, no major problems, a few suggestions

"We needed a place to stay in Estes Park for a wedding and I have an extended family of 6 people. The cabin is very close to Rocky Mountain National Park and it was very easy to get in/out of the park. The cabin is also down a quieter gravel road by the river. It was great to be away from the traffic that is closer to town. Very nice to be by the river, but there was not much fishing in the river and you have only a small amount of access to the river. Plenty of space for the 6 of us, but 2 of our 6 were teenagers. The cabin was clean and had plenty of linens and towels. Beds were very good. Kitchen is good sized. Bedrooms and living rooms are also good sized. Deck by the river is awesome, assuming you have good weather. The cabin furnishings are a little dated and worn, but everything works. Nothing was broken. Remember this is being marketed as an older, quaint, cabin rental. A couple of suggestions for the owners: The TV is really old and when the weather is not great, we would have appreciated a modern TV. Especially since the Olympics were on. The kitchen needs more silverware and glasses. There is no dishwasher, and that's ok, but I hated having to wash the silverware just to have enough for 1 meal with 6 people. Overall, really good, nice and quiet, close to the park and to town."

  • Cozy and Convenient

"We spent two nights in Mable's Cottage during a visit to Estes Park to speak at Rocky Mountain National Park and at the World Ranger Congress. The rustic cabin was a delightful retreat on our hectic schedule. We especially enjoyed breakfast on the outdoor deck each morning. We would recommend it to couples or small families planning a visit to the area."

  • Lovely Cabin Home !! Such a peaceful and clean place besides the rolling river

"What a lovely cabin home you have ! Such a peaceful and clean place besides the rolling river. Peaceful in the morning and evening hours. A great location to the beautiful mountains that we enjoyed. I loved being able to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary in such a beautiful location. Estes park has changed so much since our honeymoon. Our son loved the hiking, go carts and especially the ATVs. What a blast. Your sea side style made us feel at home- even down to your "sea minerals" soap which we use at our home."

  • 3 Texas couples &1 Kansas Couple

"Four couples enjoy Mountain Haven On the River. This summer in Estes Park marked the 28th summer our four dear couple friends have been blessed to vacation together throughout the U.S. and points beyond. We enjoyed a great week together in the owners Jim and Gail"s mountain home. The house made us feel at home--great beds, baths, laundry and well stocked kitchen and spacious eating area. Oh, we loved the living space, especially the sunroom overlooking the yard and river!. Thank so much. 14 elk in back yard the day we arrived!"
