  • Fantastic location for full RMNP and Estes Park experience

"We are a family of four with 11-year-old twin daughters and loved our stay. We live in a large home, so the cozy "studio" feel was exactly what we were looking and loved the fact we were always together while in the place, but had plenty of comfortable places to sit, hang out together, etc.. It had everything we needed to eat breakfast and pack lunches for the many hikes we did in Rocky Mountain National Park and was clearly clean and well-maintained. Having the windows cracked open at night provided comfortable sleep and waking to a view of the mountains was always breathtaking -- I didn't want views of rivers or trees like we can get at home, this is definitely a place with mountain views! We frequently sat on the big deck and enjoyed all the birds and chipmunks, especially the friendly hummingbirds. It's far back from the road so no road noise, very quiet. Close to neighbors but we never saw them. Pool was a big draw for the kids after long hikes: is kept very clean and WARM, not overdose of chlorine like many public pools. A couple of us used the loft (including my 6-ft tall husband) and wasn't too hot with the ceiling fan going at night, but a little hard to get in and out of. The cabin was furnished with lots of great, critical reading material for all to do in Estes Park, particularly the various hiking guides and maps. Finally, being literally around the corner from the RMNP entrance, but just outside of the central Estes Park town means we avoided traffic for many of our day-hiking adventures and grocery shopping (first went to Safeway in town, but then used the smaller grocery store just down the road). Estes Park, while crowded over the 4th of July week, was quaint, fun, many places to shop and eat (highly recommend Claire's Restaurant for ANY meal and Images of RMNP photo gallery). The cabin owner was very pleasant to work with and responsive to questions. Highly recommend this cabin!"

  • Lots of Room, Great Views

"We spent 4 nights and 5 days at the Chalet, and found the space large enough for everyone to enjoy without being crowded. (9 people) However there were a few things which needed improving or updating. 1. The keyless lock on front door, does not completely unlatch if locked from the inside. 2. The oven needs immediate total cleaning. 3. Take storage bowls as there are no medium sized bowls for left-overs. 4. We were provided with only 2 extra rolls of toilette paper for 9 adults (had to buy more). 5. The ground level bathroom has odor of septic tank-only way to reduce this odor was to leave the exhaust fan running continiously (also bought a room deodorizer too little avail), 6. The outdoor Grill was not functioning properly, burner was clogged, and not heating evenly. and 7. The ground floor bedroom, directly across from the stairs, the door would not close without forcing, as the upper hinge screws were loose, (my husband found screwdriver and replaced 1 screw and tightened the rest-then function smoothly). Also a little touch-up paint and recaulking of ground floor bathtub and replacement of moldy shower curtain replaced. If these things were taken care of this would rate 5 stars."

  • Everything was wonderful!

"My family came to hike in RMNP for the third summer and I have to say that this was the best location yet! We were traveling with my husband's mother and our adult children yet the house was comfortable for our 3 generations with its gorgeous view of the Big Thompson from the back windows and deck. The kitchen was well stocked with spices and a wide range of cooking utensils which was perfect as we love to cook. The hummingbirds were constant guests and quite greedy but feeding them was entertaining. We even had a doe and fawn visit each day. The shuttle to go into town was less than a 1/2 mile walk. All in all a perfect vacation! Thank you for sharing your home!"

  • Like being home!

"This is such a wonderful place. Very cozy. We felt welcome and comfortable the minute we walked in the door. The house had all the necessities. We didn't want to leave. Kathy and Conrad provided excellent instructions and information about everything we needed to know. They have been great to work with, as well as VRBO. I world definitely recommend this home to others looking for a rental in Estes. Thank you for making our vacation/anniversary trip an enjoyable one."
