  • Perfect in every way

"We spent 5 days celebrating the 50th anniversary of my folks with a total of 38 people ranging from 6 mos to well.... old enough for 50 years of marriage! While the information about the lodge states that it is fully stocked, we did not expect it to be stocked to accommodate that large a number. It was!! Not a thing was left wanting, right down to band-aids and laundry detergent. I can't express enough how perfect it was for both our needs and our desires. What an ideal week to celebrate our family. Thank you, Bob and Carol, for being willing to host a group of our size."

  • A perfect location for a family gathering, with the most fabulous views in the whole Estes Park area

"The location, in the broad meadow along the stretch between Estes and Glen Haven, was my mother's favorite ever since she was a young woman, so we knew that the setting would be outstanding. The view from inside and outside the house was breathtaking at any time of day. The house itself was designed to lend itself to group activities like singing, playing games, and shared meals but also with space for anyone who might want to be alone for awhile to read a book or contemplate the mountains or take a nap. The kitchen is also beautifully designed and stocked with plenty of cooking ware and utensils. Several family "chefs" could work at the same time without getting in each other's way. The bedrooms with private bathrooms were a luxury and the master bedroom, with the large walk-in closet, sauna, and access to the hot tub, made us wish we had the same layout at home! My husband and I have gotten accustomed to our king-sized bed at home so we would have enjoyed that in this vacation home, also, but we totally understand (and knew ahead of time) that there wasn't one. And by the way, the hot tub was in perfect working order and underwent its weekly cleaning while we were there, which made us feel good about the owner's attention to detail. One final thought for an additional feature: We like to keep windows and doors open to let in the mountain breezes, but the doors didn't have screens, so we were hesitant to leave them open. But that is an absolutely minor issue in what was a fabulous home and location. Thank-you to the owners and property managers for giving us the perfect vacation home. We highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a place to stay in the Estes Park area."

  • Great location - classic cabin!

"My husband and I, along with his brother & wife traveled to Estes Park to celebrate turning 50 this past year. The Shawnee Cabin was a great location for our trip. It was located on the west end of Estes Park – which allowed easy access to Rocky Mountain National Park. The cabin is classic with many original features (windows, wood trim, etc.) but with the amenities you need (hot shower, comfortable beds, etc.) A previous post indicated that one of the beds rolled to the middle. While we slept in the larger bed, our travel mates indicated that the bed was comfortable. The cabin was closer to the neighboring cabins than we had anticipated from the photos, but we rarely saw any activity come from any of the other cabins and the cabin (& neighborhood) were very quiet. We cooked breakfast & dinner each evening at the cabin. The kitchen was well stocked – cookware was nothing fancy, but it was functional. We used the outdoor grill several times which was a plus! Shawnee Cabin was a peaceful retreat at the end of each fun-filled day."

"Jerry is very good with letting making sure you know all you need to know and then some.. and since this was our honeymoon he even offered to buy us some Champaign! The cabin was absolutely perfect! Well supplied and a beautiful view from the top deck or from bed:) There is neighbors within sight but we were there 5 nights and seen them only twice.
