  • Fun & Restful Setting!

"The lodge was absolutely great! It beat expectations. There are very few places that are so close to town, and yet give you an escape from the hubbub. The lodge was very comfortable and well equipped; there was nothing that we wanted that wasn't there. I only wished that we had a little more time to soak up the peaceful setting. Thanks to the family for opening up your getaway place to others!"

  • Just What We Wanted

"This cabin was perfect for us! It was quaint, comfortable, removed from the chaos of Estes Park, quiet, and in a beautiful setting. We had a great time hiking in RMNP, bike riding in Estes, and hiking in Roosevelt National Forest and coming "home" to such a peaceful place was wonderful. Dinner on the deck in the evenings was the best, bbq worked great, bed was very comfortable, towels were thick and soft. The kitchen was stocked well too - we had everything we needed. The cabin just before ours was empty most of the time but the last couple of nights some folks arrived. They were quiet but had a too bright flood light on at night which was a bummer. Also, we were sad to not see any wild life while there. The only suggestion we would have is to have some personal suggestions from the Hoberts about favorite places to go out to dinner. If we can come back to RMNP in the future we will definitely stay here again and will recommend it to friends who are looking for a place!"

  • Great house, great location

"We loved our week at this house! It was a perfect location for easy access to hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park. Also great for hopping on the jogging trail around Estes Park Lake -- just across the street. The house had everything we needed to make for a relaxing, enjoyable, carefree stay. Kitchen is well equipped for making meals at home. Nice collection of games and DVDs for relaxing. Pleasant backyard for dinners al fresco and relaxing. House is very clean, well laid out, and very organized, and the owners left meticulous directions on how to find everything/do everything. There was nothing lacking! THANK YOU!!"

  • The cabin was perfect!

"We stayed at the cabin for a week, arriving July 2 and departing on July 9. This was our very first Vrbo rental and if they were all like this, we would do it again in a heartbeat! Let me first start off by telling you that when we walked in, the cabin was immaculate. We rarely stay in a hotel because it grosses me out. There was not one spec of food anywhere, one stain anywhere, etc. Right then and there I felt comfortable. The kitchen was nice. We did appreciate the basics like salt and pepper, cooking spray, and seasoning for grilling. The only kitchen item we did miss was a pizza pan or cookie sheet for the first night that we brought in a make and take pizza, but we definitely made do. The bedrooms were great. The master bedroom mattress was actually more comfortable than ours at home. The decor made us feel like we were home. Cracking open the window at night to listen to the river was awesome and it let in some fresh, crisp air! The bunk bed was ideal for families. We didn't hear the complaints of "she's putting her feet on me...". The living room was just enough space for coming "home" after a long days hike to just chill out for a while. Our kids appreciated the satellite tv to watch a few of their shows before going to bed. Thank you for having a washing machine and dryer in the unit!! I didn't do much laundry but it was nice for mid-week when we needed a few extra clean items. We spent a lot of time out on the deck! Loved the composite deck (we have the same at our home). It's so nice to walk out here and not get splinters in your feet. The table and chairs were a wonderful addition that we didn't know about. We ate every dinner out there taking in the wonderful scenery. We also spent a lot of time down at the river. That's the very first thing the kids wanted to do when we got there was to go fishing. Grant it, we didn't catch anything (could be that we are amateurs) but it was fun trying! One afternoon we just stayed there because we had a very long hike early in the morning. The sun felt so good as we looked through all of the wonderful reading material that's in the cabin about Estes Park. A few drinks and a snack at the river was the perfect afternoon just to recoop from the long hike. Thank you, Alex, for the wonderful opportunity to stay here! I've already had friends ask where we stayed and I'm happy to pass the information onto them. We would love to come back as a family, too, maybe in a few years. Thanks again!"
