  • Homestead House - Great for families

"This property is perfect for families. Very spacious. Comfortably sleeps 8 with 3 full bathrooms. The house is so much bigger than it appears on the website. The basement area is great for children to watch TV/movies. Very close to Downtown Basalt. Amazing views of Mt. Sopris. We love being in Basalt over Aspen, with so many great restaurants and grocery stores now in the Valley."

  • Great location!

"This house was the perfect size for us. We had 4 adults and 2 children. The back yard landscaping and flowers were beautiful. We loved being able to pick fresh tomatoes, eggplant, raspberries and peppers every day. The location is close to downtown Basalt, the local park and swimming pool. The owner left fresh flowers for our arrival and I cut fresh flowers for more bouquets during the week. Loved having a washer/dryer available. We did find some dishes in the cupboards were not clean - that could have been put there by the previous renters. Great vacation!"

  • Excellent...Perfect

"What a great time at Cap K. I stayed there almost 2 weeks and had family come and go, the house was great for entertainment and plenty of room for those staying the night. The scenery is majestic!! The fishing was excellent and the bike rides from Basalt to Aspen were incredible. Basalt is a neat little town with restaurants, shopping, a nice outdoor market on Sunday...good grocery stores just a mile down the road at El Jebel. Aspen and Glenwood Springs are only a 30 minute drive away, so take a day and visit those great towns. Many thanks to Lynn (owner) and Dave (ranch manager) for all their help while we were there. We will be back!!"

  • Launch Pad!

"The views from the kitchen, living areas and deck are incredible! We had breakfast on the front patio as the sun edged over the mountains that this house sits up against... and we usually had drinks and dinner watching the sun set from the back deck. The house is situated mid-valley so it is convenient to Glenwood, Carbondale and Aspen. We walked down the hill to the bus stop, to go into Aspen on a couple of occasions. You can also drive the 3/4 mile and park at the bus stop, but we loved the walks up and down the quiet road. We spent a bunch of time with the kids at Crown Mountain Park, a 5 minute drive. We also explored many of the nearby trails including Thomas Lakes. We didn't make it to the top of Mt. Sopris this time, but we enjoyed seeing it from the deck! Thanks AJ for a great launch pad for our adventures."
