  • Great location at Spruce Lodge

"Spruce Lodge is right at the base of American Eagle and American Flyer lifts, in Center Village. You can ski directly to the door at the end of the day! The room is nice and big, with plenty of seating and places to eat (bar and large table). The kids room has a bunk bed, so our kids didn't have to sleep together. The kitchen is well stocked with condiments and utensils. The down sides were that the gas fireplace didn't work. There is an opening, like a window but without glass, near the ceiling between the kids room and the master bedroom, so you can hear everything! Also, the coffee maker is missing the filter tray, so we weren't able to make coffee. The parking garage is very small, so don't try to get a big car, like a Suburban, in there. The walls are pretty thin and we heard our neighbors alarm go off at 6:00 am (obnoxious rap music). Overall, it was a great place and we will stay here again!"

  • Hope to visit this home again

"Our goal, every year, is to get out family together for a Christmas on the slopes. It is one of two or three times each year we have the opportunity to be in one place. I was looking for a place big enough to hold all of us, enough beds and bathrooms, and close enough to eliminate the early morning rush to, or evening rush from the mountains. The Mountain Retreat delivers on all of those and did so at a reasonable price. If you're looking for glitz and glamour this isn't the place, but if you're looking for a well stocked kitchen, large table to eat together, or place for family to relax in front of a fireplace, beds for all, and a great location, this has it. It's a little dated, but who cares... Mtn is a short couple blocks walk to the Mountains in the morning, and a quick ski back, literally to the front of the property in the evening. As others have mentioned, there is two bedrooms on the main floor that share an entrance and a bathroom, a quirky design, but once again, who're two blocks from the mtn! One suggestion though, swap the queen and baby crib in the room attached to the master to the bedroom with the bunk room downstairs. I'm thinking having the parents / baby in their separate space and the bunk bed age kids (sleep all night) share the joint space might work better :) Overall, enjoyed our expierence, found the owners very easy to work with, loved some of the extras, like sleds for the little ones, and plan to use them again in the future!"

"This home in Breckenridge is awesome. It's beautifully decorated, spacious and very accommodating for a large crowd. The kitchen is huge and equipped with every cooking item that might be needed. The laundry room was very handy! We loved the location to Breckenridge - close yet slightly away from all the hustle & bustle. Due to the heated flooring the home can become a little warm. We needed to open the windows a time or two. Also - the two huge sleeping rooms in the basement only have one very small bathroom. I wish that had been explained a little clearer. We had 10 people sharing one bathroom. Yikes! We were not able to get the wifi to work properly. (Maybe too many people trying to use it at one time) The televisions in the basement were not working either. Overall - this property met all expectations and we would readily book it again."
