  • First stay - incredible home with views. Luxury living.

"Our group rented this home for an extended weekend and it was the perfect compliment to our vacation in Breckenridge. It was just a short distance to town with the feeling of privacy and relaxation at the same time; as far as the house itself is concerned, it was in immaculate condition with plenty of the essentials and living space, e.g. blankets, cooking utensils, towels, etc. As highlighted in previous reviews the pictures did not do it justice and working with Randy the owner was seamless. All in all it was a great home very much worth renting, we hope to make it back again."

  • Comfortable house, disappointing surroundings

"The house was comfortable and reasonably clean, family and kid friendly, owners very helpful and responsive as others have said. It is an easy 5 minute drive to Main Street. However, I think the house is overpriced at $375/night relative to other properties in the area during summer. This was our first trip to the area, and I’m sure we could have done a better job of asking questions and doing research in advance. But for others who may be unfamiliar, be sure to verify location. The location area shown on the listing (Spruce Creek Rd area west of Hwy 9) is not accurate. The house is east of Hwy 9, actually outside the radius shown. If you have the street address, Google maps does not show it correctly either. Bing maps does. This matters because many of the houses in the neighborhood back up to the creek and/or woods. This one does not; it is an interior lot surrounded on all sides by roads, other houses, and power lines. Previous reviews paint a perfect picture, but we didn’t find it to be altogether accurate. One review says, “Mountain biking/road cycling & hiking were right outside our door,” which just isn’t true. The only way to get to anything from the house is on Hwy 9, which is not safe to walk or bike on. It is not “nestled in the woods” as others have described. The first thing you see when you pull off Hwy 9 is someone’s work trailer advertising their flooring business. The next thing you see directly ahead is a power pole with power lines going four directions, obstructing what would otherwise be a nice view of the hills. Right next to the pole is an old plow truck parked in someone’s front yard (typical of the neighborhood). The house faces this intersection. That and the highway noise 50 yards away prevent it from feeling very secluded. Frankly, I felt like the neighborhoods adjacent to Main Street Breckenridge felt just as "woodsy" and "mountainy", and they have better views and are within walking distance of both town and trails. Again the owners have done a great job and are good hosts, which has been well documented by others. I just think there are lots of other houses in the area (at least one even in this neighborhood) that are just as nice and offer more pleasant/explorable surroundings, not to mention actual mountain views and/or walking access to trails, etc., with lower nightly rates. This may be the perfect place for you, just be sure to ask plenty of questions and don't take all the photos/reviews for granted."

  • Wonderful Blue River Home

"Sherwood House was wonderful. We had three generations (6 adults and 5 teenagers) staying comfortably in the clean, lovely, spacious home. The main floor master suite was perfect for the grandparents and there are three more large bedrooms with attached baths. The open plan means a large group can interact from kitchen to dining to great room. But there is enough space for anyone who wants peace and quiet. The view of the mountains through the large main floor windows is exquisite. It's a short drive to Breck and Frisco. After hiking, biking or shopping in Breck the home was a peaceful retreat in the trees. Though the owners are close by and quick to help whenever needed, we never felt crowded by them. They are friendly, easy to work with and were quick to respond to our rental inquiry. Thank you for making our trip so easy. This was our first experience with VRBO and we were impressed. We would absolutely stay here again."

  • Wonderful Home and Location

"This was a wonderful location just 10 min south of Breckenridge. A very easy drive into town for activities. Our group of 14 had plenty of space with all the amenities we needed. The property owner provided all the info we would need. Beautiful view of the mountains and a well-maintained home. Our only critique was that some of the mattresses had seen better days, but all-in-all a terrific place to bring our families together for fun and laughter. I would certainly recommend this home to others."
