"The house was comfortable and reasonably clean, family and kid friendly, owners very helpful and responsive as others have said. It is an easy 5 minute drive to Main Street. However, I can't recommend this house for a summer stay relative to other similarly priced properties in the area.
This was our first trip to the area. For others who may be unfamiliar, be sure to verify location. The location area shown on the listing (west of Hwy 9) is not accurate. The house is east of Hwy 9, actually outside the radius shown. Even if you have the street address, some mapping sites show it correctly and others don't. This matters because many of the houses in the neighborhood do back up to the creek and/or woods. This one does not; it is an interior lot surrounded on all sides by roads, other houses, and power lines.
Previous reviews paint a perfect picture, but we didn’t find it to be altogether accurate. One review says, “Mountain biking/road cycling & hiking were right outside our door,” which just isn’t true. The only way to get to anything from the house is on Hwy 9, which is not safe to walk or bike on. It is not “nestled in the woods” as others have described. The first thing you see when you pull off Hwy 9 is someone’s work trailer advertising their flooring business. The next thing you see directly ahead is a power pole with power lines going four directions, obstructing what would otherwise be a nice view of the hills. Right next to the pole is an old plow truck parked in someone’s front yard (typical of the neighborhood). The house faces this intersection. That and the highway noise 50 yards away prevent it from feeling very secluded. Frankly, I felt like the neighborhoods adjacent to Main Street Breckenridge felt just as "woodsy" and "mountainy", and they have better views and are within walking distance of both town and trails.
Again the owners have done a great job and are good hosts, which has been well documented by others. I just think there are lots of other houses in the area (at least one even in this neighborhood) that are just as nice and offer more pleasant/explorable surroundings, not to mention actual mountain views and/or walking access to trails, etc., with lower nightly rates. This may be the perfect place for you, just be sure to ask plenty of questions and don't take all the photos/reviews for grante"
