  • Loved our stay!

"Everything about this property was wonderful! It was clean, well stocked and my favorite part was the wonderful running stream outside the patio!!! We had a bit of trouble with the tub in the master suite not draining well, but I emailed my concern and they promptly responded that they would take care if it! We were checking out the next morning, so they didn't bother us with coming ASAP. The parking was great! It is a short walk downtown! Would highly recommend this property! We will check it out again if we are staying in Breckenridge!!!"

  • Good Property for the Price

"My wife and I were looking for a last-second place to stay for a weekend getaway and came across this property. Overall, would recommend but with a few caveats. As a background, my wife and I are late twenties/mid-thirties, no kids and both enjoy traveling/skiing. PROS - Owner is very responsive and provides a very detailed guide to staying. For someone as meticulous as myself, I found this to be very helpful. - Relatively close to lifts. Not quite ski-in ski-out but close enough for government work. Probably two to three blocks away. - The price was very reasonable compared to other properties located nearby. - Close to downtown Breck, weather depending you can walk to the shops and bars. CONS - By far the biggest con was the noise!! Not to sound like a grandpa but the apartment above us must have been rented to some early twenty-somethings who were on multiple all-night benders. Both my wife and I had to run the "white noise" apps on our phones at full volume in order to even attempt sleep (and we were still woken up multiple times). If not for the fact that this detail is entirely outside the control of an otherwise courteous property owner, I probably would have given this property 3 stars. Very surprised that other reviewers don't note this fact. Maybe our experience was just an exception. - The apartment is dated. The track lighting didn't work, the bed was very stiff, appliances were old, etc. This didn't bother us that much because we spent the majority of our time out of the apartment. If I owned a place in Breck I rented out on the reg, not sure I'd dump a ton of money into it either but a few minor updates are in order. - The hot tub is physically located a goodish distance away from the condo itself. Doesn't seem like a big deal until you have to put on a couple layers, walk to the hot tub, and try to figure out how to get back to the condo without soaking those layers. Again, minor inconvenience but we would have appreciated knowing this prior to our stay. My wife is more into the après-ski thing than I am so she cared more about this than I did. Overall, the only thing that would have influenced our decision was the noise factor and, as I noted above, no one else's review mentions this so maybe it was just a one-time thing. The noise level in no way is a reflection on the owner who seemed courteous and promptly responded to our communications."

  • Wonderful Stay - Mardi Gras 2016

"Our group really enjoyed staying in this house for the Mardi Gras break. It is actually the finest skiing accommodation I've ever stayed in - and I've stayed in a bunch. Our group included four adults & four children between 5 & 7. We didn't use one bedroom so at least two more could have been added to our party. The house is two levels and spacious with a second living room downstairs which allowed our group to "spread out" so we weren't on top of each other. Although the photographs of Sunrise are beautiful, the house exceeded our expectations. It is larger than we thought it would be. We had friends over for dinner and the kids "disappeared" to the downstairs living room. Clearly the Owner and their Architect spent a lot of time together during design of the house as everything is in the right place. This is not a spec. house, the kitchen is well stocked with all the right tools equipment, finishes such as plumbing fixtures, door hardware, appliances, etc. are high-end, and the Sonos system was great. Hot tub, fire pit and gas grill all were used and worked fine. We arrived to a clean house with all equipment and appliances working like new. The neighborhood is quiet and the views from the kitchen/living area are magnificent. Transportation to and from Peak 8 base is easy enough. The shuttle stop is approximately 250 yards away (flat walk). Town is a shuttle ride from the same stop. Shuttles run approximately every 20 minutes, although we found them to be inconsistent - particularly at night. Buses and cabs in Breck are not what you would expect. For the price, it's hard to imagine a better value than Sunrise. If and when we return to Breck we'll stay here."
