  • Outstanding getaway!

"My husband and I are from Asheville, NC and were visiting family in Aspen for a few days. We decided at the last minute to try to find a cabin to get away from it all. Scott's place was the perfect setting. We loved every bit of it and were lucky enough to be in the midst of a brilliant fall weekend with the Aspen trees in full glory. The cabin is just delightful and though we all say it too much, "pictures don't do it justice" it was true here - it's better in reality. The kitchen is tiny but well stocked with cookware. Take note when he mentions it's "off grid" and don't be expecting to be able to get on your cell phone or on the internet. THAT was exactly what we were looking for and it was heaven. The beds were comfortable, the couches amazing and there are no words to describe the star gazing. The overview description on VRBO is exactly what you will find, so read through it first. If you want to ditch the outside world for awhile, this is the place!"

  • 2 weeks of beauty

"We stayed for first 2 weeks in August. Karen's 5 bedroom home which accommodates friends and family very comfortably. She has an amazing view of Mount Sopris and it's right on the Roaring Fork River. Her home is beautifully appointed all the bedrooms have comfortable beds and bathrooms. The kitchen is easy to cook in. We love the location. There is so much hiking in the Carbondale area. We had several fun trips to Marble, Avalanche Creek, & Penny Hot Springs. Biking is great, too! The Roaring Fork River is great for fishing and kayaking. The location is amazing with the most spectacular view we've seen of Mt Sopris, right from the main house ,not to mention luxurious accommodations ready for families and friends! Fun, comfort and luxury! Enjoy."

  • Perfect cabin, perfect location

"This cabin was the highlight of our mini vacation. Pictures do not really do it justice. It was quiet, cozy and very clean. The furnishings were extremely comfortable and every detail had been thought of. We especially enjoyed the extensive selection of local history books (we learned a lot about the area), and relaxing on the deck, while taking in the beautiful view of White House Mountain. Can't wait to stay here again!"

  • Great house for our family retreat

"Seven of us spent the week at the house and it met and exceeded our expectations. The house works; inside and out. Sleeping with the windows open to the sound of aspens quaking and a cool breeze in late July was heavenly. Family pictures and art on the walls; it feels like staying with old friends. The deer visited daily. We were happy to be outside of town but getting into Willits/ Basalt/ Carbondale was easy to visit friends in the local valley; Aspen is close by too and easily reachable, especially nice going up through Woody Creek and off the 82. A great base to hike and fish and spend time up valley and local to house. House is nicely furnished and the kitchen works well and feels like a home; very easy to be comfortable. Our group came in from three areas, California, Texas, and Utah, different daily schedules and ages morphed into a vacation. The house helped it happen. Will hope to visit again as a family retreat."
