  • Great Visit!

"My friends and I had a wonderful time at Pine Cone Cottage. The cottage is located on a hill/mountain side on approximately 2 acres of rustic land. If you are looking for solitude, this is the place. The views, lack of street noise, beautiful sunsets and glorious stars at night were just what these city gals needed. The cabin is close to RMNP and downtown, it is well stocked and very quaint. We enjoyed our stay very much and would stay there again if/when we return to Estes Park."

  • we want to go back...now

"The location was fantastic. It was so so quiet and peaceful, especially at night. The other reviewers are right on with saying that it's close enough to the main strip of town but also not being caught up in the occasional traffic of it; and easy close access to RMNP. The master bed room was fantastic, much more space than my wife and I needed. The other two bedrooms were small, but more than enough for our kids (4 yrs & 7 mo's). There was stuff to do when the weather wasn't the best. We did have visitors, a bear who decided he wanted a midnight snack from the hummingbird feeder. But he got his snack and left everything else alone. The Martin's are great to work with and very generous with their home. In terms of contacting, there are some times it takes a while to hear back, but they're always helpful and gracious when they do. The only real negative I have to say is with there being no central A/C, it got very very warm a couple of the days we were there - it was 83 inside the cabin on the day we arrived. We tried opening windows and running the fans, but there was only so much you could do and it still was uncomfortable sometimes. However, I would not let that keep me from recommending or staying again. In our previous visits to Estes and searches, I don't know that you're going to find an overall better value for your money than this home. Just remember to bring in the hummingbird feeder when you go to bed."

  • Worked great for our family vacation

"This cabin worked great for our three generation family vacation. The layout with two bedrooms and bath upstairs and two bedrooms and bath down stairs allowed for each family unit to have their own space. We were mainly interested in vacationing with small children , ages 6, 3, 2 and 3 months. The baby's bassinet even fit into the laundry room for his own room. The yard and proximity to the Columbine Lake Playground were a plus for our little ones. Grand Lake playground and beach were also very close. Trail Ridge Road was just a few minutes away. Adams Fall and Lake Irene Trails in RMNP were easy for our young hikers. The cabin was well equipped and very clean. The outdoor space was beautiful. It was close to things but seemed very private. We had a great time!"

  • An amazing home in an amazing area!

"I highly recommend this property if you plan to be in the Grand Lake area and need space for a large family or multiple families. Our group of 8 (parents, siblings, adult children) absolutely loved the flow of the house with several common areas, the privacy that each of the sleeping spaces provided, and above all the awesome deck/backyard. We were visited by moose, deer, and hummingbirds in the yard! The well appointed kitchen was perfect for dining in, and the thoughtful library of information helped lead us to some great restaurants. The 1.42 mile loop (from the house and around the lake and back) was a perfect way to start the day for walkers and runners in our group. We brought mountain bikes and were able to ride to town, as well as on single track trails near the golf course. We highly recommend, minimally, taking a few hours to drive through Rocky Mountain Nat'l Park - the views are truly spectacular! It was a real pleasure working with Lana in all aspects of inquiry, booking and departure. Be sure to rent this property... you won't be disappointed!"
