"We rented this condo to be as close as possible to other guests of the August wedding we were attending on Keystone mountain. The condo was in a perfect location just steps away from the gondola, and I could see this being a prime location during ski season. Overall, we were very happy with the size, location, and amenities. It was 2 bedroom / 2 bath with the master bath inside the master bedroom. The guest bath was accessible from living area as well as 2nd bedroom. Beds were comfortable, plenty of extra pillows and linens, and the bathrooms were HUGE. We loved the view of the mountains and the Gondola from the patio and the fact that we could walk to the shops and restaurants in the Village. If your stay is fully within Keystone, you would not need a car at all.
The guest bathroom did not drain properly. We did not report the issue, but I would think housekeeping or maintenance should have noticed and fixed prior to our arrival. Also, I understand it is uncommon to have air conditioning in the Rocky Mountains. However, the thermostat did not have an on/off for the heat....only a lever to set the temperature. The heat ran constantly even when the lever was set to the outside temperature and we had to open the doors and windows to create a comfortable temperature inside.
The other small complaint that I have is that by renting through VRBO, we were required to pay in full at 30-days as well as pay a $200 refundable damage deposit. I would not have booked this way if there were convenient hotel options. It puts all of the risk on the customer and zero risk on the owner. Hotels simply 'authorize' your credit card for 1 night of your stay and appropriate incidentals. I found it very inconvenient that I had to pay $800 up front for a 4-night reservation. I understand that with it being owned by an individual, some assurances around payment are needed, but the full payment is not industry standard and for this reason, I would be hesitant to use VRBO if I have hotel options available.
We left some items behind which were quickly retrieved by the maintenance team. Overall, very good stay. A few adjustments would make this a perfect 5 Star review."
