  • Great property

"The Bear's Den is a beautiful, minimalist home that has only what you need to be a base of operations for your Glenwood Springs stay. It's no-frills, 1BR/1BA with insanely fast wifi, a decent enough TV (you're not really going there to watch TV, I hope), and a great location that's mostly quiet and outside of the town. My only complaints are regarding the sliding screen door which is a colossal pain to open/close quickly (a few moths and flies got in) and the mattress which isn't anything special. If you need a soft mattress, you may want to pack a foam topper if you have one as this mattress is far from soft. I was concerned about the lack of AC in the house, but it really does get quite cool in the evenings and usually by 8pm, the house was a pleasant temperature. All in all, it was perfect for what we needed and provided the quiet and privacy we were looking for while still being very close to town. Also, there are a LOT of light switches, but everything in the house is labeled very clearly."

  • This property is an excellent value for the price. So many things are provided.

"We stayed the month of June, 2016. It is an excellent location and very close to downtown, but located in a quiet neighborhood. One can view Mt. Sopris from the front porch. Really enjoyed the outdoor firepit and making s'mores with the kids. So many toys provided for all ages. An excellent collection of books are available for all ages to enjoy also. Our favorite places were the front porch for relaxing and the back porch for family dining. The gourmet kitchen is well stocked with all the dishes and cooking utensils one can imagine. The only thing to improve is the cooling. It really gets warm in the summer now, and the units are loud and need updating. I mentioned this to the owner and I bet she makes some changes soon. She is so sweet and really wants her guests to enjoy their stay. I highly recommend this property and hope to return next year!"

  • A diamond in the rough!

"It is a wonderful gateway just enough away from town to relax, but not too far for supplies and main street shopping. Plenty of space to hike or bike. You are out in the country so be prepared and don't go out alone cause there are wild animals. But sometimes it can be so nice to catch a glimpse of a doe getting water at a pond or eating pants in a neighbor's yard. Owners live on property and are very helpful. They keep to there area of the house which is above the garage. You get the main house to yourself which is very large. The area has wonderful views. The garden is lovely, but please don't pick the flowers! I agree with the owners that leaving them makes it nice for all guests. They die so fast once plucked and take time to grow back or re-grow. I have gone before when I was stressed out from work and just recovering from singles. I found it to be the perfect getaway to clear my head and rethink a few things. I would go again every summer if I could!"

  • Enchanting

"Our 3 generation family (12 people) stayed during what could have been record-breaking heat for the area, yet the entire home was very comfortable. Our 3 children and their families were able to enjoy their privacy in the large bedrooms with adjoining bathrooms; but, the family rooms were especially pleasing with plenty of room for the entire family for meals and conversation. My favorite was probably the secluded location, beautiful decks, patios and gardens with room/area adjusting volume of the music system. After enjoying a BBQ on the back patio our first evening, we were startled by the sound and glimpse of very large birds flying by – turkeys rooting in neighboring trees for the night. Many of us didn’t know turkeys could fly. We were greeted the following night by a meandering white-tail deer on the hill-side above the patio garden. Not only was the home very practical with everything you might need to include salt, pepper, soaps and paper products, it was created in such a way that it brought the outside in, and the inside out. It was very inviting and tastefully decorated with a very cozy feel – the perfect place for family. Thank you Siouxzy!"
