  • Wonderful place for a family gathering

"I rented HMS cabin for our family reunion weekend. I had cousins from around the country gathering in Grand Lake to experience our wonderful Colorado mountains. This cabin is wonderful for this type of gathering. The setting is unbelievable - on a small, private lake with a canoe and rowboat to use. There is good trout fishing right in your own lake. The location is very close to Rocky Mountain National Park, so we were able to drive to great hiking and views. We were also close to the town of Grand Lake and enjoyed dinners at the Grand Lake Lodge as well as Daven Haven and the Sagebrush. For eating at home, this home has a large kitchen that is well stocked and a very large dining table and room for a crowd. We all gathered in the evenings in their large living room where there was room for all of us to sit and talk for hours in front of the fireplace. There is a great firepit outdoors for campfires and lots of firewood is provided. We loved it. it was well worth it."

  • SarahandKipper

"This was our second stay at Scott's magnificent home! Once again we were not disappointed with our experience and the home! It was perfect for a relaxing, stay-cation! We enjoyed all that Grand Lake had to offer in the off season and quite a few games of chess at the kitchen island! We cannot wait for another chance to visit!"

  • Getaway in the woods

"What a lovely home and so much space to decompress and enjoy the beautiful surroundings! We enjoyed being "off the beaten path". The fire pit was awesome and we even saw some wildlife in the yard! We would definitely stay here again!"

  • Comfortable, well-furnished log-cabin style home!

"Our family (5 adults, two children) spent three days in this comfortable cabin-style home close to Grand Lake. We had ample room for playing games, chatting, stretching out on the large sectional sofa and reading books, having morning coffee on the deck, and cooking together in the well-furnished kitchen. The home is light and airy, and the upper level open loft gives it a very spacious feeling, even though there are two bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs. The main floor master bedroom is perfect for those early risers to sneak out onto the deck with morning coffee while not disturbing the late sleepers. We had been at a family wedding in Tabernash prior to our arrival, and had been on the road for three days prior to that, so it was great to have the washer and dryer handy and to have two full bathrooms (one upstairs and one on the main level.) The large outdoor deck allowed the children to play outside, but still be close enough that we could keep an eye on them easily. We enjoyed several hikes at the East Inlet Trail (Adam's Falls) which allows you to walk into Rocky Mountain National Park. We also took a day trip over Trail Ridge Road -- also very close to the cabin. There were several grocery store options nearby for supplies. The house has lovely views of snow-capped peaks from several of the large windows. We would recommend this home as a retreat for a couple or for a larger family group. A great gathering place, close to hiking trails, beautiful lakes, and amazing views!"
