  • Great place for extended family

"We enjoyed the new townhome and Old Town location. The well-stocked kitchen and beautiful dining table worked for all of our meals. The bed situation allows for a lot of flexibility. Due to the ladder, the loft is suitable for older children and younger adults. The upstairs has a nice sunset view of the Continental Divide. The hot tub across the driveway was drained the day we got there, but hot the next evening. Hint - make sure the previous user didn't accidentally turn off the heat when they turned off the jets. Since it is across the street, we could check the controls before committing. Unlike many of the destination resorts in Summit County, the crowds are usually absent midweek. The shuttle bus is a short 5 minute ride to the resort, but you may need to wait a while midweek. I wouldn't want to walk to the base with ski boots, but had no problem with other shoes. A local turned us on to an app that shows where each bus is so you know when to be at the bus stop (Ridehop, linked from the official Winter Park website). This was a big help for those who wanted to explore without a car. All of the "Lift" shuttle buses are free. We bought our food at the large Safeway in Fraser (10-15 minute drive). I recommend renting equipment from Alpine Sun a short block away (skialpinesun dot com). The prices are cheaper than the resort and you can try different setups each day. We also enjoyed talking with the owner at the pub next door. For cheap eats on the slopes, it is hard to beat Pepperoni's $3/slice at the base of Mary Jane. Melissa was great at taking care of a few small details when we arrived. The security deposit was quickly returned. (I've waited up to 6 weeks from other VRBO rentals.) My family wants to return next year!"

  • Wonderful Vacation

"We stayed with the children and grandchildren (total of 8 people). Beautiful location. Enjoyed viewing the mountains and the hummingbirds from the deck. Very clean. Toured Rocky Mountain National Park/Grand Lake. Plan to return for skiing in the winter."

"We had a family trip, 9 people, with plenty of room. Everything was lovely. If you are the cook, you are able to socialize with the nice large open floor plan. Close to the bus stop, and only a 10 minute walk to the mountain. Easy in boarding boots, tough in ski boots. Biggest pro of the condo are the beds. Very comfortable. The homeowner was always quick to respond, and very accommodating. We will be back!"

  • Lovely!

"Woody, white, fresh, clean, well appointed, with a euro feel. The beds (and bedding) were very comfortable; even the fold-out sofa. It was spacious enough for our group of 8 adults, but yet cozy. And everything worked! It was a pleasure dealing with Judi. (Also, separate but related, I recommend Alpine Sun for ski rentals. Smooth and friendly.) I have nothing but good to say. We were hoping to be snowed in but alas...... Many thanks!"
