  • As good as advertised.

"The property was a very nice turn of the century home. House was well outfitted to meet all our needs. This house would be a five star if not for a few minor details. The master bedroom's window A/C unit was not blowing cold air in the 90+ days. This only affected us because our baby slept in there during the day. Due to the angle of the driveway, our party sustained minor damage to two vehicles trying to avoid the busy street side parking. We had to run and exchange a propane tank while bbq'ing because the main & spare tanks were empty. Lastly, although Mr. Patrick (owner) is very friendly, it was a bit offsetting to have him there (using garage as wood shop) from time to time while using the outdoor kitchen. Oh, and as a firefighter (with bachelors in Occupational Safety & Health) I must say the hindrance of paddle locked doors that left only one means of egress on main level, was a bit unnerving."

  • Outstanding

"We have stayed in many VRBO rentals in the US and other countries. Few of the rentals receive a 5 out of 5 rating like this home did. The photos on VRBO do not convey the beauty and serenity of the home and property, or the attention to details that added to our comfort and enjoyment. We arrived at the property late in the evening and there was a fresh floral bouquet, and snack/drinks in a gift basket to tide us over until we could get to the grocery store. When we did go to the grocery we didn’t have to buy all of the usual disposables such as laundry/bath/dish soaps, paper towels and toilet paper because they were all provided! (The bathrooms were even stocked with cotton swabs, cotton balls, and a magnifying mirror.) One of our 2 concerns prior to staying in this home was that this was not a free standing house, so we were concerned about noise and neighbors. However we did not see any neighbors or hear any voices or noises other than the gurgling of the mountain stream behind the house, and our kids calling to look out the window at different sights, mainly animals. There was abundant natural light in the house so between the quiet and the incredible views of hills, trees, and mountain rocks it felt like a rural setting (with city amenities nearby.) The only other concern is one we have for any rental we are considering: the kitchen. Since we cook most of our meals we want to make sure the kitchen has the essentials necessary to prepare and serve meals. This kitchen was incredible; it had all the equipment, appliances, cookware, cutlery, and gadgets that we could want. This home- the house, the interior, the environment- was all around perfect. However it was the the owners, Jack and Linda, who really added the special touch. Their old fashioned hospitality and genuine caring is what will bring us back. We highly recommend this rental."

  • Very nice home. Located near many attractions. Made for a great vacation base.

"This home in Colorado Springs is very nice. Our family stayed there for three nights in late July and did day trips to Royal Gorge, Pike's Peak, Seven Falls, etc. This home is very well kept, clean and comfortable. I'd highly recommend this property to anyone looking to stay in this area. The owner communicated very well before and after the trip. Thanks for a wonderful stay and kick off to our CO vacation. PS. If looking for a great meal try Dats Italian. Wonderful atmosphere and outstanding food."

  • Fit our needs perfectly

"Very clean and well prepped when we arrived. Extremely convienient to have some food items and some basic cooking essentials stocked in house when we arrived. Thank you. Electronics a bit outdated but parents also viewed this as a plus since it helped maintain everyone's focus where it belonged: on the wonderful outdoor experience of Colorado Springs."
